Okay took my 2014 tradesman into the dealership last thursday for an oil changed. It was a my 90k service so had the front & rear dif fluids changed, Radiator flushed & tranny flushed as well. There was one factor recal they said they could take care of as well. Didn't really think to much about it. Just said to get it done. So they had it all day thursday. They call me to tell me its ready. Almost $700 later I go pay & pick it up. As I am leaving the dealership I get a service air bag system warning. Got off after a minute. Then comes back on. Call the dealership & guy says they are booked out friday. Can I bring it back monday?

So I drop it by this morning. He asks me if I'm going to wait for it. I've got a buys morning so I say no. Just give me a call when it's ready. Me assuming that would be in the morning sometime. It get's to be about 2pm & still no call. I call to see whats going on. Guy asks me if it had done this before. I tell him no it has never come on before. Only after I left their shop on thursday. He says they don't know what the problem is. They are waiting for a call back from the main Dodge techs? He'll call me back when they hear from him. Come to 5pm & I am pissed as I need to be heading back home but don't have my truck. Guy calls me finally & says can we keep it overnight? We don't know what the problem is. AWESOME. Yeah I guess I don't have much choice there. So I take a company van home. I'll find out what recal it was they did. I'll report back on what I hear tomorrow

That sucks, but its nothing compared to my dealer experience this week. I made an appointment and dropped my truck off on 7/31 to have 3 broken manifold bolts replaced under warranty. I have 5 day free rental coverage under the warranty. So they tell me it is an 8hr job and will take a day or two. I figure that's understandable.

Dropped it off 7/31 (monday). I call Wednesday and the service advisor (SA from here on out) tells me it will be done Thursday by 4 or 5pm. So I call back Thursday at 530pm and the SA tells me it's being worked on and will be done either later that night or Friday morning. So I don't hear anything and call them Friday at 3pm. The SA tells me it hasn't been touched yet cause the mechanic is sick and backed up with a bunch of cars and they were thinking it would be done the FOLLOWING THURSDAY OR FRIDAY!!! I flipped ****. Unreal, he lied to me 2 days in a row and said it was being worked on and now it hasn't even been touched. How do I drop my truck off on 7/31 for an 8hr simple repair and now all the sudden it won't be done until 8/10 or 8/11!!! Thats 11-13 days from dropoff to pickup!!!

So Saturday around 11am I go into the dealership and ask to speak to the Service Manager. I tellp him everything that's happened and that I'm SUPER FRICKEN PISSED OFF that it hasn't even been touched yet and that now it won't be done until next Thursday or friday. He calls back to the mechanic and asks him why he hasn't touched it. He then ASKS THE MECHANIC "IF IT'S OK" IF HE GAVE THE JOB TO ANITHER MECHANIC!!! Ummm excuse me? It's this mechanics choice? Don't ask him if it's "ok" if he gave the job away, tell the mechanic he is a P.O.S. for hoarding SO many jobs, he can't habdle it all, and cars that should be in and out the same day are sitting for 10+ days!!!

The "mechanic" who was assigned my truck was sick last week and then was backed up rebuilding a motor and other cars. The stupid service advisors never thought to make another mechanic do the job. So my truck sat from 7/31 until today, 8/7, around 2pm, when someone finally started working on it. That's 8 days it sat there. Worst part is.... I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR LAST MONDAY AT 9AM!!! Why even make appointments if your not going to work on the vehicle when it's brought in at its appointment time?!?!?! You make an appointment and then wait 8 days to even touch the vehicle!

Anyway I'm supposed to pick my truck up tomorrow morning around noon. We shall see if they even fixed the issue. Knowing their track record, they didn't even fix the broken bolt.

Worst part is, I want to change Ram Service dealers from here on out, but I have a broken gear inside power steering pump and the part is on backorder and under warranty so once it comes into stock, I have to bring my truck back to this stupid ass dealership.

Ugh.... pfew. I'm all fired up and pissed off.

I would have that ******* dealer send the part to a different dealer, F them, I would also call corporate an give them an ear full of what you went through, you might even get a few oil changes or somthing out of them for your loss of time. Sqeaky wheel gets the grease but a more squeaky wheel gets more grease. Know what I mean.

There was a recent recall on the airbag system. I got a notice in the mail about it, so I had them take care of it when I took it in for an oil change a couple weeks ago. I also have a 2014, so I would imagine thats probably what the recall was on yours. Havent had any problems out of mine though.

they all suck. once in a while you hear about a good one that does that right thing and takes care of the customer, but i have yet to come across a chrysler dealer like this (personally). i sold my last truck because i couldnt stand to drive it anymore. it constantly reminded me of the **** experience i had with a dealership. ram customer care is great at getting the warranty stuff done and dealer relations. however, if you find yourself in a situation where the dealer damages your vehicle, they are worthless. i hope nobody else has to experience that.

If FCA could "Weed Out" the Corrupt and Do Nothing Dealers, Ram could sell just as many F150's.. However; until that day comes they will always be a disappointment. OH, and "Ram Cares" does nothing for the consumer, other than keeping records for those with Lemons, and still have to fight the Do Nothing Dealer.. Our Local Dealer is not only a Do Nothing But they are also Corrupt. They take good wheels off and replace them with Faulty or bent wheels.. Ask me how I know!!!

My truck only has 11k miles, but I'm afraid to take it to a "Authorized" Ram dealer, since that only means they are "Authorized" to abuse it anyway they see. Oh, one last thing, I had Katzskins installed and got it back from the Dealer, and found a tear in the Passenger sea. Of Course they deny any involvement or fault.

Buyer Beware!!!

It's the way the world works-
Now a days it's not the brand so much as it is the dealer- I refuse to buy a ford because of the local ford dealer-
I have to drive minimum 3 hours to get to a Ram dealer- I try and do dealer visits on vacations
The brand makes a killing off selling and financing- it would be nice if they just took over the dealership aspect - clearly they would make money- Just not enough to appease the bean counters

Yea it was ridiculous. They ended up waiving the $100 Chrysler Deductible, and waiving the $180 rental car fee for going over 5 days.

I will never return to Reedman Toll Auto World in Langhorne, Pa ever again.

It doesn't stop with the auto industry.

I've had off-road vehicles over the years (atvs/SxS) and it's the same scenario.

Dealer/salesman/manager etc can be awesome....but after the sale....

Service departments are straight garbage...anybody who's dealt with RIDENOW knows what I'm talking about.

I wouldn't stay away from them when buying a vehicle, it's the service department there that's trash.

I bought my 2012 Ram 1500 Reg Cab there. Had 31k miles, mint condition, were asking $19,100. I got it for $16k. Then they gave me the employee discount, plus my trade in, plus $3.5k cash down, and add In the aftermarket Zurich warranty and I walked out of there only owing $6,300 on a 2012 Ram Reg Cab Hemi with 30k miles.

Well good to hear that the sales will go off without a hitch. He lives in Atlantic City but will be using my dealer to have his service done.

Yea sales, new and used, there is good. Their detail department is top notch. I worked there on and off for 10 years, no vehicle goes out of detail without 2 managers inspecting it. Very high quality check.

But the Ram Service there is TRASH.

Am I correct in assuming that broken exhaust manifold bolts are covered under the 100k powertrain warranty? Just made an appointment for Monday to fix mine.

Yes mine was. Also the warranty includes upto 5 days of free rental car coverage. I'd take advantage of that feature. I sure did.
