Do the 16's still have a gas cap? Take it to the dealer, or autozone to get it scanned. Best 10 bucks I ever spent was a bluetooth obd dongle that pairs with my phone for stupid crap like that.

Ha... Funny story. My engine light turned on the other day after I filled my tank up. I never though about checking my gas cap. So what do I do ? I take my intake off and put it back on to see if it was the sensor... TWICE lol. Then it hit me... gas cap. Not to mention I got frustrated and took my intake apart on the side of the road ahah.
In other news, I just learned that cars are coming now without gas caps. You wonder why did they not do that earlier? but then you wonder how many times you will reach in to unscrew your non existent gas cap.

Dont know who was first to the capless game, but Fords been mostly that way since 2009 as the new models came out since then the caps go away.

The check engine light didnt come on when my gas cap was off...it was a light that looked like the side view of the gas cap off the truck.
