Well, today i dropped my baby off at the dealer for what i thought would be somthing relatively simple.

1. The tailgate has paint missing from the factory, the body shop at dealer was going to take the gate off then give truck to the service department.

2. Ive had the horrible wind noise from my driver side door, its been driving me insane. I was sopposed to receive a call when they figured out the issue today. Its been at the dealer anout half the day today and need my truck back so i can go to work tomorrow.

Ive read on here about the wind noises on here and posted about them, has anyone had a fix for this? Ive had a great experience so far and am pleased.

Just wanted to know how long it usually takes to diag a problem. Thanks!

Just gor a phone call. Tailgate will be done in two days. The wind noise was traced to the top of the windshield as a cross wind. According to my service rep, they are classifying that as normal unless water or actual wind can be felt or seen in the cab. Well at least they tried and i will live with the noise, until it either leaks or i get used to it.

Put a crack in your windshield and get that replaced by your insurance. Most cover wind shields with a zero deductible.

Just a thought, though not saying I would do it myself. Lol

most wind noise is from the door seals.

I can't see that at all. You just got the famous it's normal answer. The windshield is not making a wind noise.

Thats what my thought was, because it sounds like it is comming from the top corner of the driver door. Ive been thinking about trying to spray in a little bit of foam around the seal to see if it quites it down at all.

Rather than foam, why not just tape over the door seam with painter's tape and go for a drive? I'm trying to track down wind noise fron driver door area on my own truck, and that's what I plan to do. Already know it's not the glass to window channel seal as I've taped and tested that one. I just need some time this week to go after the door...

in 2011, there was know excessive wind noise, the tsb solution was putting a foam pad in the upper door channel. thought looked cheap so i lived with wind noise. in the summer after being parked in the hot sun, the seals must have seated themselves because the issue resolve itself.

Wind noise at the top of the windshield is not normally the issue. Wind noise there indicates a bad seal so if you aren't getting wet inside the cab while it's raining or at the car wash, look elsewhere.

Usually, that noise is associated with insufficient, deficient or folded over door seal material. Finding the spot, then adding some sticky sided foam tape usually does the trick.

Never give in to what a dealer tells you, always get a second opinion my friend, its better safe than sorry just because service department doesnt want to fix something.

Well, truck is already going back to the dealer again. This morning in my way to work the check engine light and the service electronic braking system light came on and a light also came on saying the traction control was disabled?

Any thoughts?

Something in your ABS system went haywire. Could be wires, abs sensors, tone ring and/or the ABS module. Disabling traction control is a default when there is a ABS problem. That problem is going to need a scan tool hooked up for proper diagnosis.

Well here's the kicker, on my way home from work the engine light went off and the traction control light went out. Im assuming somthing fixed itself? Any idea on what i should do? Im leaning towards just to drive it to see if it acts up again.
