New employee at work acquired a 2015 eco. He stated it had an Allison 8 speed. I was under the impression an 8 speed is just a mopar tranny. I had told another person that ram uses ASIN transmission ( optional)on the big diesel not Allison as they stated. So I thought the 5.7 & eco 8 speed are the same transmission? ( non ASIN or Allison) Was the 6 speed the standard on the Eco?

The 1500's use a ZF-designed 8HP70 transmission for the 5.7 and Eco Diesel. The 3.6 uses a 845RE version.

As stated above, an Ecodiesel uses the ZF 8 speed. Allisons are not available in any Ram truck and the Aisin is only available as an option in a Ram 3500 equipped with a 6.7 Cummins or in the cab & chassis trucks.

Sounds like another salesperson weaving a web of
Lies to bait the hook. I swear the worst part of Dodge/Ram are the sales people.
