good to hear, i think. the first thing that comes to mind is the fix for VW diminished mpg and performance. i would wait before i jumped into this new version. i do have to say, this all a bunch BS on the part of the EPA. they are just trying to remain relevant.

Hmmm the new models are dropping the "Ecodiesel" badge in place of just "Diesel"..

I wonder what it looks like?

Drop the vw engine and anything else tied to it. Go back to Cummins, and talk about a v6 Cummins turbo.

couldn't agree more.

I really wanted an EcoDiesel and got tired of waiting. Just bought a RAM Laramie 1500 Hemi a month ago. If I'd a known I might have waited. But then, the idea that the thing will be "tuned down" from prior ED programming is a bit worrisome.

Probably good advice for those interested to wait and see.

Had a 15 eco, now have a 15 hemi. I loved everything about the eco except the power and sound. I just missed the v8 sound, and the horsepower/ quickness. Ill suffer through the missed mpgs.

Honestly, electric motors have tons of torque. I wouldn't mind seeing some hybrid trucks. As much torque as a diesel without the NOx emissions.

I probably would have bought an ECO Diesel if it was available at the time. I went from a 2015 Pentastar to a 2017 Hemi and couldn't be happier. I thought my mpg would suffer greatly but to my surprise it didn't. If I drive it according to my age it's great on gas, lol

That seems to be a problem for some of us--:naughty:

Eco diesel

All Par posted Ram is now producing 20 Eco diesel engines a shift now. States they must be more than confident the new tweeks will satisfy the epa gods that they have gone ahead and started production again. So good news for Ram/Grand Cherokee diesel fans, and Ram will finally have their little weapon back in the ring in time for Ford when they release their diesel.

I hope they incorporate this into more of the line up. In most of the world outside North America diesel is king and for good reasons. Wether a diesel fan or not they do tend to be more practical for most people's needs.

I will seriously consider a wrangler when I'm done paying the Ram as a daily driver and hope they put the 3.0 in it. And hopefully they don't cater too much to the yuppy crowd in the next gen wranglers.

That's my rant ;)
