Gas tank in 2013...

So my window sticker says my truck has a 32 gallon tank. I drove for about 10 miles with the light on yesterday and filled up and it only took 26 gallons. WTF?

Odd! 26 gallon is stock and 32 is the optional tank.

I was hoping it was expensive lol... I wanted one, thought it had one, and am contemplating how I can ask the dealer to make this right. :argue:

I'm confused...my window sticker says my truck has the 32 gallon tank also, it says nothing about a 26 gallon tank anywhere...so which tank do I have?

My 32 gallon has a lot of reserve. Simply put even with the light on you still have 5 or 6 gallons generally.

I thought maybe that was the case, but I'm avg'ing 16.8mpg. (420ish miles) If there's really 6 gallons in reserve with the gauge on E that means I can drive another 100 miles with it on E? That doesn't seem right to me...

Does it show the added cost? The build sheet would show you for sure.

My build sheet shows the 32 gallon tank.

my truck had that too. I left it on E a few times, and it never hits past 27 gallons on a fill up, but my truck says like 30 miles till empty, which should be around 2-3 gallons.

I wonder if we can check under the truck for the par t# and then ask the dealer to reference that with the 32 gallon tank.

otherwise we are getting ripped for 75$

The reserve keeps fuel pump cool and keep fuel flowing up and down hills.

I have the 32 gallon tank. I drove about 50-60 miles with the light on, and when I filled up it took 30.*** gallons.

Drive it for a while with the light on, and I think most of you will find if it says 32, you have a 32, the light just comes on pretty early lol.

If you had the 26 gallon tank you wouldn't be putting 26 gallons in at fill up unless you pushed it to the station.
