I am entertaining the idea of switching to a 2500 with a Cummins in it. The one I am looking at has an MSRP of $49255. I can get it for $40036 plus ttl. I have a code for employee price which is what makes me question it. I can price out that truck on trucar and get pretty much the same price, that tells me either the employee price isn't doing much, or there aren't many incentives. I see there is $4000 in incentives right now according to the trucar website, so basically how low would be considered good? I know I won't do it for that price, at least 3k or so would have to be shaved off for me to consider it (I know not very realistic).
Thanks!

10 grand off is the good deal price. Occasionally I see 11 and 12 k off, but that is very rare. Your price sounds good to me.

yup 10k back of Msrp is right, " you can almost always get a ram 10k back of Msrp you just have to look". couple of places in Idaho and one in Utah I know for sure make those deals all day long.

Sounds like a fun switch.
Just know that as of right now, the 13+ trucks are locked down for tunes / deletes.

What you need to do is get the dealer invoice, stack the rebates on top of that. When you work that number out, see if the dealer will give you any of the dealer hold back to you.

He said he could throw in some oil changes or knock $1000 off (he was only giving me 3k in rebates there is another 1000 for returning leases). I know it is a good price, the fact I could get the same deal on trucar kind of bugged me though. It defeats the purpose of having the employee discount!

I swear i just saw the other day a tuner by bullydog that tuned the 13 plus trucks it just required a special cable to unlock the pcm. That isn't too high on the list to be honest, I know they are really cracking down on that for warranty reasons and I don't really want to be on the hook for a $15000 crate motor!

that's an amazing deal, considering all the options this truck has.

If u considered buying a Hemi, can u imagine the even better price you'd get? Remember the diesel carries about A $8G Upcharge over the gas. May want to consider the 6.4 (more HP than diesel and MUCH cheaper)

I am considering it, it is just a question on if I would be happy with anything but a diesel.

Oh ok, whatever works for ya! Me, i much prefer gas, because i dont tow anything; i basically just use her as a commuter car, so I want as fast 0-60 Times, as possible, and unladen off the line, gas is just faster. Less maintenance issues too, from what i hear. Lastly, Dodge only offers the LIFETIME warranties on their gas models.:roflsquared:

Why not test drive both kinds and then decide what u prefer?

Ok, here is my new dilemma. This truck stickers at $40,780, out the door I would be getting it for $34137. I am thinking that is a pretty good deal my problem is I'm not sure I want to go without the things I have become accustomed to. Mainly the 8.4an, remote start, steering wheel audio controls, and a backup camera and backup sensors. I am thinking of going with an aftermarket nav unit and adding remote start before fall, but I'm not sure. Has anyone went to a tradesman from say an outdoorsman trim level? How was the adjustment?

I haven't done that particular switch but my dad's new SUV is loaded to the gills, and I drove that for a fair bit during 2013 before I got the Ram.

The Ram doesn't have touchscreen/steering wheel controls/parking sensors/backup cam which his SUV does..wasn't a big adjustment at all. Everything is right there anyway. I have an aftermarket remote starter which has atleast 5 times the range of the factory one.

I'd only miss the top dash cover/carpet/nice gauge cluster/rear sliding window if I went from the Bighorn to the Tradesman. Technology wise, no biggie.

EDIT: tow mirrors are VERY helpful when backing in and out of spots, the concave part shows you everything.
