Well guys I finally came to the realization that my 2016 1500 CCSB 2wd just wouldn't cut it anymore especially since I need it as a work truck and that 5'7" bed is nearly useless so I had to move on up in the world to a 2017 2500 CCLB 4wd 6.4 hemi. I absolutely dig it. It's a monster and the 8 foot bed will definitely be more than enough room for work in the future. I'll post pics tomorrow. Just excited bc this is also my first 4x4.

On a 2nd note......for the HD guys what are some quick low cost mods? I've been in the 1500 world for so long that I'm kinda lost with what I should do. My truck is all white so I'm thinking about maybe plasti dip badges?? What do you guys think?

Congrats on the new truck. That CCLB is a monster!

Exterior mods for a 2500 would be similar to a 1500, IMHO. Badging, tinting, debadging, etc...would all be done in a similar manner.

Mechanically, not much difference there either other than programming, the 6 spd and the monster 6.4L under the hood.

Iys definitely a big change driving this thing but it's awesome. I can't decide if I want to debadge or black em out. I haven't used pastidip in a long time so didn't know if that was still in. I may just dip them and then upgrade to the real blacked out badges later. It already came tinted so that's already taken care of.

Sounds killer! I dipped my badges so I don't have to look at dirty chrome on white. I like how it looks

congrats on the truck! I went from a 1500 to a 2500. SOOO much better as a work truck.

mods: this is probably the only truck/vehicle I've left mostly stock. Just a few functional add ons and only real "unnecessary" mod was an exhaust. Not sure why. oh and a decent sound system is always necessary....

What exhaust did you go with? I was looking at the HD section and looks like there's a limited market for the 6.4 I definitely need to get cab lights unfortunately mine came without

I love my 2500. Mine has the short bed but it's still a monster of a truck but is a great daily driver. Wife complains about the ride but it pulls our fifth wheel very well.

I did the wheel flares and a few other small mods. I did put on a 3.5" I/o magnaflow muffler and added just a tad of sound. Picked up about .5-1 mpg....not much but something

Enjoy your new vehicle!!!

Congrats. Dip the badges. I replaced mine with the factory black ones though because I felt they would be much easier to get wax off of. I had dipped badges on my 2011 and they had the white haze on them from wax that wouldn't just whipe off

plasti-dip is almost idiot proof. You can get it wrong, add to much, etc. It ( once it dries ) almost always comes out looking pretty decent. I plasti-dip just about anything I think would look better black in my day to day life lol.

So if you're an idiot, use plasti-dip! ;)

the 1500 drove like a car and the 2500 feels like a truck.

I think you can get them installed at the dealer for $3- 400 or so. Worth it to me if my truck didn't have them. I absolutely love how it looks lit up at night

Congratulations!
You just went from a pick-up, to a Truck.

I miss my 2500 Quad cab, long box but, unlike you, i had nor reason for such a monster truck.

Oh yea I definitely will be going through the dealership just bc they warranty them and I know some ppl have had issues with them after installed. I also want to get the wiring kit to have the side view mirror lights on at the same time.

I have the mufflex/Maggie. Like you said, limited choices. I'm still waiting on Corsa to put out a cat back. Had one on my 1500, Tundra, and G8GT. Love the sound. I'm assuming the pipe diameter might be limiting a lot of makers. I occasionally harass the guys at Corsa by email. Hope I'm wearing them down....
