Looking at getting a 2014 ram and want the 8 speed tranny and 4x4. What kind of mpg can I expect. And I plan on leveling the truck and putting 33s on. Yes I know it's a truck but just asking.

Go HOGS ! Beat L.S.U.

Wish I could help more , I have a 2014 4X4 QC 6 speed w/ 3.55 gear ratio , stock tires and leveled with Bilstein shocks.
I get 19.5 - 20.5 all around driving and up to 23 mpg on long interstate driving . I drive like an old man ! Light footed !

I'd say leveled with medium weight 33" tires & wheels , 5.7L with the 8 speed with 3.21 Gear ratio = 19-22 mpg all around 24 mpg interstate.

With 3.92 Gears 20- 23 mpg all around and 25+ interstate .

This is with my driving style , your right foot may be heavier or lighter than mine .

You will get more responses in Engine & Performance thread .
Or Lifted thread .
Be prepared to get bashed on being concerned about GAS Mileage driving a 4x4 tank ! LOL

The 8.speed xsmn is geared lower in 1rst &2nd gear , thus giving you an advantage on heavier / bigger tire selection .
If I had the 8 speed I would still prefer the 3.92 rear end G.R. and I'd go 35" tires on a level .

Welcome to the Forum HOGFAN32 !

Hope this helps !

My 8 speed 3.21 can get 22 on the hwy, if I'm not running in the wind. The other day I ran a 100 mile trip in the wind and got 18mpg. On the way back I got 22 mpg. I average 17 to 17.5. I've never got 24.

Fuelly is in my sig............. When my truck was stock, best tank was 19.4 mpg during a roadtrip from GA to NY. I am sure it could hit close to 21ish but as much as I try, I always seem to run between 78 to 83 mph on the hwy which is just beyond the tipping point of getting really good MPG's. When I was commuting everyday, I was averaging 16.5 mpg (commuting into downtown ATL and if you don't know, we rival some of the bigger cities for horendus traffic).

Now that I am leveled, I get about 17-17.5 mpg on the hwy, same driving habits.

To be honest, I feel the truck does quite well for what it is and how I drive.............and no matter what anyone tells you, the 8 speed/3.92 combo absolutely kicks ***! :favorites13:

If you keep your foot out of it !
The #s I posted are EVIC #s , my hand calculated #s are approximately -1 to -1.3 mpgs !
Go with the 3.92 gear imo !

If you tune it your MPG will go down. I was averaging 22mpg pre tune, post tune im at 19-20. I live in apretty rural area, not many intersections tho. City drviving forget about it. i wont even look at the evic.

I have 5.7 8spd 4x4 3.92's. MDS does in fact help btw. But I shut it off..

Gas mileage and toilet go in the same sentence most of the time when you say full size pickup. Certainly, when you say lifted and 35s. You are already pushing a lot of air and if you lift it up, add extra weight on each corner, and more rolling resistance in contact patch well, don't need to work at NASA to see where that's going. :)

Definitely lifted already. Looks like a nice truck. I'd plan for around 15 mpg give or take 2 depending on city vs highway and how you drive it. Strange that it looks like it has an express/tradesman speedometer/display. Did the big horns not all come with bigger displays?
