Hi All,

I'm having issues with the passenger side rambox lock on my 2010 Ram 1500. I've had the truck since I ordered it from the factory and up until now I haven't had any issues with either rambox. This weekend I locked both sides when out on a camping trip. I noticed that the passenger side took a little more "love" than the drivers when I was locking it. Both sides had only a couple things in them and I am 100% sure that there was nothing in the way to cause the mechanism to seize up. I've tried all 4 sets of keys (the 2 internal and 2 loose) and they will all open/close the other rambox and tailgate, but not the passenger box.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions beyond a visit to my dodge dealer??

Thanks in advance for the help!
-Jess

^^ agreed. Hit it with some powdered graphite lube and I bet it'll loosen up. If that works, lock and unlock it a few times to get the lubricant worked in to everything

It's completely shut, right? Try pushing it down while turning the lock.

Can't tell you how many times this has worked for me. Never tried it with the RAMBox though.

Try pushing down on the lid while you turn the key also.

I agree, lube it up then push down on the cover close to the lock.

Just wanted to chime back in to distribute some thanks!! The graphite lube did the trick... with a little bit of elbow grease applied as well.

:favorites13:

Thanks for the great advice. Will definitely cruise this forum if I have any issues in the future.
