Looking at a 13' with around 90,000 miles on it. My Ram now has 48,000 and for the most part has been trouble free. Is there anything to watch for on the higher mile Hemis?

wouldn't make sense to to trade 48000 miles for a 90000 mil truck. that being said, i well cared for 90000 mile ram if priced accordingly and gone over by a mechanic you trust should be fine.

my girl has over 100k, and not one problem (fingers crossed). but i tbink it would be pretty silly to trade to a higher mileage vehicle.

Are you trying to get into a Hemi and out of payments or something?

Mine's got 150k and runs perfect (knock on wood...) . Truck drives tight still. Mostly hwy miles.

Hopefully it's a second truck for gruntwork so he can keep the newer one in good shape.

104k on my 2013 Hemi 4x4. Seems to be holding up really well. I hear about electrical issues, but I think they're overblown. Engine and transmission are both proven performers. If the truck looks in good shape and runs well, I'd go for it (given the price is fair).

60,000 on my 2013 hemi
a few minor electrical problems BUT all where within forst year, I bought new.
Keep in mind, not sure if all of the 13's are like this BUT the spark plug recommended change is every 30,000

66,000 on my 2013 Hemi 4x4. I bought it last summer @ 45,000 miles. So far it’s been a great solid truck. Hope it last trouble free for several more years & miles! They say these Rams are Americas longest lasting trucks........we’ll see

Yea I need to lower my payments. My Ram now is a 14 Hemi and owned a 09 and a 05 2500 both with Hemis. The 2500 had 122,000 miles on it and ran strong. But that was before all the MDS ********. My ram now only has 48,000 and some change and runs great. My only concern is it's a noisy motor. The truck I'm looking at is clean loaded crew cab Laramie with the 8 speed tranny.

My 2011 1500 laramie has just under 250,000 km. Still running great. Transmission needed a new valve body around 200k and 1 tie rod end recently and has never been towed. Best truck I've ever owned. My truck is well maintained though. My 2017 spends all it's time in the shop and only has 1000 km on it. So it seems like there's a bit of luck involved when it comes to reliability.

Um, if the 09 was a 1500, it had MDS. 2500s didn't.

my 09 has just over 200k miles on her. Engine is tight and runs like a champ. trans is pretty good as best I cna say. I think I have some vibration in it when under load at interstate speeds, but anywhere below that, when you torture the skinny pedal, she responds well.

Replaced: front wheel hubs, carrier bearings in rear diff, 4x4 shift motor/encoder, rotors, 1x coils. front diff axle seal

From a practical financial perspective did you try and refi your existing loan with whomever it is with? They may be willing to give you a longer term to drop the payments. Otherwise you will take the hit for the exiting truck and be stepping into unknown territory. i'd be less concerned with mileage than with another vehicle who's history is uncertain. It'd be worth a shot.

I think this maybe the way to go. I'm looking into it now.
