How can I get my '15 Sport more buttoned down feeling?

Rode in a friends '09 Ford F-150 4x4 today.....hardly a beauty queen with 150,000 miles on it. But, that damn thing hung on the road w/o so much as a hard lean flying around corners. I wouldn't dare go that fast in my 2015 Sport CC 2WD--it feels way too loose with body roll. So, I thought I'd ask here what I might do to get better handling. I am thinking better shocks and sway bars. Any suggestions?

You answered your own question. :)

That's exactly what you can do to take out the body roll and sway.

Before I sink that kind of dough into this truck I want to make sure it will make enough of a difference. Brand wise for shocks any suggestions?

I would go Bilsteins at all for corners. If you get the 5100s, you always have the option to level or lift later.

Sway bars will make the biggest difference in body roll during cornering.

Hmm, same truck/model/problem. Seems to lean a lot more than my son's F150 or my previous trucks in the corners. I know, I know, it's a truck not a sports car. Has a great throttle snap when pushed and great on center feel on the highway, but suspension seems to have a bit of a bounce when hitting irregular surfaces. Have been looking at Hellwig sways and Bilstein 4600 shocks as an answer. Maybe some michelins when/if I get my next bonus but would love to hear opinions of others who have gone this route. My friend's was just a 2009 F-150 XL club cab 4X4 and it was glued to the highway.......a really curvy Tennessee road. When I hopped in the Sport and drove the same road it was Bob and Weave. No offense to your 4X4, but this truck would have hung with you, trust me. It's his real estate beater too.....surprised the hell out of me. After riding with him I'm really feeling the "looseness" of this truck and have to change it.

Well, since you have the 2wd, lower it and add sways and see how it does from there.

I'm going to look into the Bilsteins. I put those on my 12 4Runner and they helped a bit. I have a feeling sway bars will be in the mix as well. Just hope they firm it up a bit. Really don't want to lower it as the height for towing my trailer is perfect; although my 92 year old mom would like an easier step up!

My 4x4 with factory roll bars corners pretty good. I take some corners pretty fast just because it sticks so well. I'm still gonna upgrade my rear sway bar, 2/3 drop, and probably qa1s.

why dont you get a proper toy to go fast in

and use your truck - for actual truck purposes?

unless you like filling up your v8 everyday, i dont suggest to take your hemi canyon carving

but OP, id be pretty pissed if a beater ford with 150k handles better then my new truck on the same roads

I have a 2012 Mini for fun and errands, but you hit it on the head. I couldn't believe that the beater was better handling. Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm going to start with the shocks and go from there. Never been a huge Ford fan regarding drive trains--I think their body integrity has been top notch, even better than my RAM, but always preferred Chrysler engines and transmissions, hence my choice. Not to mention looks either!

For a truck, the Ram handles pretty good to me.

I don't see how a 09 f-150 would be better. I've been in a few but whatever..lol

And yes sway bars and a drop will make the biggest difference. Then it's on to better tires and different sizes.

I quite like canyon carving in my 5,000lb+ Ram, lol. And it does hold it's own against many cars out there... :naughty:

I don't see how either. Kind of pissed me off to be honest, lol. So, it's off to the suspension mod department I go!

I'm used to these Tennessee roads, maybe it feels good since my last truck was a lifted 15 superduty, but to me it feels great.

Bilsteins 5100+Hellwig sway bars front and rear(take the ones for RAM 2500)+ Spohn adjustable Panhard bar + lowered springs + wide sporty tires = perfect cornering
