I just got a 2014 crew cab 5.7 hemi 8 speed express.

I go hunting a lot with some other guys and somtimes we take some fairly rough trails heading in. Sometimes a foot of snow uphill. Sometimes mud, dips , rocks

My question is will the truck perform ok under these situations?

The two other guys have a 4 runner and a sequoia. Just want to know if I can follow the pack in :)

Thanks

You need to keep in mind your likely longer than they are. So turning is going to be challening, as is obstacles. It'll be easier to get high centered as well as your going to be wider... so, depends on how your going to lift/modify the truck to improve your approach/departure/clearance angles you may be able to keep up with them... but do you want to destroy a nice vehicle tryìng?

On that note as well, when I was in the Canadian Forces, we had Bombardier Iltis's that were supported by chevy 2500s and as under powered and crappy we thought the iltises were, they ran circles around the chevys.

I also hunt in the mountains, dirt roads, muddy fields, etc...here's what I would recommend, a 2.0 level and a good set of A/T tires..then it would be great. On the stock Goodyear tires, it will still do decent, but you'll see the limitations quickly...IMHO

Your front bumper is going to be the biggest issue, then tires.

Those stock tires are pretty good in the sand though

I year ya..... I still run them after 16k miles. If I had the money, I'm replacing them. I notice in the snow, they don't grip as well, sometimes I have to put it on 4x4 when I know I can make it without it, and when it rains lightly, it slips a little. They are just "ok" tires in my book, but if you are going to do off roading, your going to need something more aggressive.

is your truck 4x4? like mentioned above i would get some better tires so that you can catch better grip in the harsh enviorments. just my opinion. take some ropes or something just in case you get stuck....lol

The truck itself does well, limitations are the tires. Suspension and the activation of the 4x4 system works great in my book.

For mud/rocks I would get a really good all terrain. The OEM tire is decent and as I mentioned has worked really well on the sand since I go to the beach a lot.

But as soon at these wear out im gonna get some Nitto Terra Grapplers in 305/55R20 :D :rockit:

Tires tires tires! That and what was previously mentioned, tight turns will not be as easy if the other trucks are shorter.

I hear ya, when tires started getting more expensive, burnouts became a thing of the past for me.

Lol.... when your dropping over $1k... it makes you think twice but in ur case, it will be worth it.

The stock tires will barely keep up, but with better tires, u would lead the pack...lol.

Try it first couple of times just to see.

I don't think that they list for $400, but after shipping, mount/balance/taxes, it's probably getting close
