I thought I'd hate it; in fact, I specifically looked for one without it, but then I realized the 8speed only had the dial, so I accepted it. Now? LOVE it. I love having the extra room in the console too.
My sentiments as well. Wasnt thrilled about the knob at first but it was 8 speed or bust, so I decided to bite the bullet. Now I love it. Wouldn't even want to go back to a column shifter.

I've owned them all (close to it): 2009 Ram, 2011 Silverado, 2015 Tundra, 2016 Silverado, 2017 Ridgeline (yup), and now a 2017 Ram. I know I'm missing a few. So far, the Ram has been my favorite.

I have no memory, it was 5-6 years ago, so I really can't comment other then I found my thread about my keys in case it would have helped someone.

I didn't read your whole attached thread, but when I got my truck I had one key inside the fob, that was it. I took my truck to a locksmith locally and they programmed a key that starts the truck and opens the doors, no fob, for $45. Works great as a backup and no batteries to worry about.

Which was your least favorite truck...

Edit: that would be a good thread title in the off topic section.

I have had a 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser J40, I made the mistake of trading in a 1973 Ford F-350 4x4 CC, I also had a 1980 Toyota SR5 P/U, I also owned a 1984 Ford Ranger P/U, I traded the Ford Ranger in on a 1995 Ford F-250 Super Cab 4x2 7.5L V-8. I bought my 2016 Ram Laramie 2500 4x2 CC/LB IL6 6.7L CTD and of all of the Pickup trucks and Jeeps and or SUV's My ram Truck is by far the best, also it rides best of all of them. I could have bought a 4x4 but 4 Wheel Drive was more of a want than an actual need.:imo:

Kinda interested in why you got rid of the 2017 Ridgeline? That "truck" has gotten rave reviews from car magazines etc.

I don't wonder why he sold the ridgeline at all, I wonder what possessed him to ever buy one of those soccer mom puke on me trucks in the first place.

No low range, front wheel drive in 2wd, no frame, no thank you. Plus the new body style looks even less like a truck than the old body style. It's like a Pilot with a bed...

We have a 2013 Ridgeline and my wife loves it. She doesn't tow her horse trailer all that often and uses it as a commuter vehicle, picking up hay etc.. For ride, they are hard to beat if you don't need a heavy duty truck. It really is a Japanese El Camino. She hates the look of the new Ridgeline.

Wife's are allowed to "love" girl things, men are not. There is a word for it if you love a ridgeline and you are a man, rhymes with jay.

25 chick cars a guy should never own,

Dodge Ram is the bottom of the list of what girls drive, just say'n.

It's just a joke, Honda is pretty high on the list but I think it is the best car made. It probably is the best mid sized truck, I don't know for sure because my needs are full sized. Just razzing.

Sweet. I have a Ram that's on the bottom of the list and a Mitsubishi that didn't even make the list :happy107:

Pretty good numbers for Ram satisfaction so far, 200 votes in.

I have this feeling that the poll results are skewed a little being this IS a RAM forum. :roflsquared:

I suppose it would work better to ask this question on a ford board? :roflsquared:

My point is, like 1% of car/truck owners are on a car/truck forums and it's generally because they LOVE their car/truck.
