Looks amazing. I'm looking to dip my side steps and badges on my express when I get the time . I hate chrome.

Took most of Saturday but definitely love the look. I was never a huge fan of chrome but the Big Horn was the lowest trim that had the features I wanted.

Question(s): did you do anything to the chrome first?
Did you do the emblems while they were on the truck? And if so, how did you mask them off so efficiently?
How many coats?
Thanks,
Chris

(Not because I fkin hate plastidip)

I personally think the chrome looks way better on the red and blue trucks.

When I see flat black bumpers.. Just kinda decreases the value in my mind.. Like its a base model with manual windows/locks.

I'd like to do this, but it seems like every little scratch would reveal "chrome stripes"

I'd like to do this, but it seems like every little scratch

Define "scratches"

Scratches as in normal driving conditions( little pebbles, random crap flying around)

OR

Scratches from offroading, going thru bushes, brushing up against stuff...

One type of use and the dip will be completly fine if you apply it CORRECTLY.

The other use....I certainly would not recommend dipping it.

Plasti dip doesnt scratch or peel unless you want it to.. Its basically just as good as any paint

Not really ANY paint...........just rattle can paint. If you put it on thick enough, will it make things water proof?
