I have had the truck for 12 days now, its a new 2017 that had hail damage on it when I bought it and I got it fixed a week ago Saturday and just my luck we had larger than golf ball size hail this weekend at the campground and put probably 50 dents in my truck and probably 200 in my wifes 2017 Explorer. I bought the camper last Thursday, its 26ft and weighs 4500lbs dry. The truck with the 3.92's and 8speed pulled it great. I do see a weight distribution hitch in my near future. I got between 10.5 and 11mpg over the 110 miles I pulled it this weekend. I have 1500 miles on my truck so far and I am still super happy with the purchase.

Edit: Misread your first part. That sucks it happened again. Hopefully your insurance takes care of you. But it still is nice truck and camper.

Nice! Was getting ready to start a topic about pulling a rig myself as I just got back from a trip today. These trucks with the 3.92' s and 8 speed are awesome. I have a 26' that weighs 5500 dry and it pulls it with ease. About 12.5 mpg is what I got.6a326654f9905d7039125613c84cb624.jpg

Yeah, I am sure they will. I am hoping the body shop helps me out so I might not have to pay two deductibles.

We are pretty hilly down here in southwest Missouri but there were several times I noticed with my cruise on 65mph that it went into eco mode and was showing 20mpg on flat ground.

Nice truck and trailer. You need wdh though. With that much weight, especially. Good luck. Sorry about the double whammy of hail events.

WDH is a must... makes towing that much easier. Set up is a tad "harder" but...

I installed load lifter 5000 air bags in my 2016 ram 1500, tow a 30ft enclosed snowmobile trailer frequently. They are the best mod so far in my opinion if you want to tow with this truck. The rear springs are pretty soft. Yet to have a problem have 18k miles with them in.

That hail sucks. Don't see hail like that in Massachusetts.

I too have a new truck to me (2014 bought less than 2 months ago) and a not new camper (2011). It's not quite as big as yours, but equally as fun!!

Sorry to hear about your hail issue-twice. Good news is these paintless dent repair guys do a great job, and you won't have any diminished truck value to deal with. Congrats on your purchase- nice setup!

We got the awning in about 60 seconds before the hail started and it only busted out one skylight. It was crazy loud inside the camper, it sounded like someone was shooting off fireworks inside there with us. My parents were on the next site over in a tent and when it was over I went to check on them and they were just fine, the tent has enough give that the hail just bounced off of it. I bet there were 75 vehicles and campers with damage there at the campground with us.

I once hooked a bobcat trailer to my truck (11 rcsb) and i swear the front lifted 6". Betting trailer alone unloaded was 4-5k. Trailer is a 29 ft steel trailer. No bobcat on it.
I ended up using my dad's old 96 z71 to pull it instead. Talk about the laugh we had about that.
