I looked at the express and it had most of my wants. I ended up with a bighorn. Imo its the best value. Has the most options and not much more cost than the express trim.

Besides my first truck I haven't owned anything over a year and half. This September will mark 1 year with my 16 big horn. So let's go for 2 years before you get crazy lol.

Ten would be good.... I drive 30K/year. If I could keep it for 15-years that would take me through retirement but 450K miles is a lot to expect out of a vehicle.

I'm a Tradesman kind of guy. I have a few options.... nothing that I don't need. It is a work truck so as long as I have A/C and a comfortable seat I'm good.

My last truck was a 02 Silverado 1500 witha. 5.3 -
At 90k put two solinoids in the tranny-
And sold it 3 years ago with 214k on it to a local kid-
Saw it the other day with 260k on it and the kid says he just changes the oil and put new tires on it.
Only thing that scares me on my Ram is the electonics- amy work trucks are all fords- Fckin junk- the entire lot of them. Only reason we have fords is the price we get em for... Out of 13 trucks I've got one in the shop every other week and that is all the 1/2 tons. I can't really judge our Diesel's as 2 of the 3 are 6.4"s .... and we'll we all know their reputation- and **** they are. For longevity I would either go ram or chevy.. and definetly gas.

I had a 07 Ram Sport I purchased new, and made the mistake of trading it in for a 16 Rebel. 10 months later, I got rid of it and now have a 17 sport for another 10+ years.

The Bighorn was the perfect mix for me.

I'm shooting for 12 / 15 years.....

Buy the truck that you think you will be able to feel good about as you drive it in a few years. If you skimp now and three years down the road you wish for better than you've defeated the whole concept. I chose a Sport after setting in a number of models. The problem with the less expensive models is the seats. The adjustable ones are just steps above the others and a deal breaker for me. Long trips require the seats be adjusted to my liking.

Just be sure to get the lifetime warranty and let FCA worry about keeping it running and keep it clean underneath during the winters so it doesn't dissolve under you.

op if you've been bitten on the last three of four Rams you've bought just get the Tundra. Is the mileage really that much of an issue when we're talking about full sized pickups with V-8s in them?

I'm going to start an extended warranty club. You guys who want to buy a warranty we can pool our money and whoever has a claim just send me an email when you have an issue. That way we skip the middle man.
