So, when I got my truck, since it is used I only got one key FOB. Local dealership wants $210 for the FOB and $60 to program/cut. I can apparently get OEM Mopar from Amazon for $85. Do you think dealers are going to make a stink about it and refuse to program because I didn't get it there? I know they can pretty much do anything, just curious as I haven't owned Mopar since 1992!

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I think it's a shame I can buy a laptop cheaper than a key fob.

Go to the high end lock smith, I brought them stuff I bought off ebay and they programmed it. I did buy a key from them because it was really cool, it could open the door and start the truck but wasn't a fob, that key was like 40 bucks. It can manually open the door and start the truck without a battery. He only charged me one programming fee for all of the fobs and keys.

Our shop does program them. However we warn you that some keys say they work but don't. People have gotten bitten by that. Make sure it's the right part. Our dealer only charges 45 to program.

Just throwing this out there:

Does anyone know if:

Mopar key fob#

56046956AF

Will work with the same number, minus the AF suffix?

Amazon has one for $84, but they don't state a suffix.

The suffix is just a revision of the same part that originally started with suffix "AA" and they should still be compatible. Generally you want the latest suffix part as there is usually an improvement to force the revision.

Awesome, thanks! Now it makes sense why some Mopar site wanted like $30 more, and the suffix was higher than the one on mine; not gonna skimp on $30 for this...

When I bought my truck, it was a year used, the salesman walks out after the deal was done and papers were signed and gives me one key. After a bit of arguing about only one key I left and ordered the OEM fob on ebay. Went to a local dealer and they programmed it no questions asked. $60.00 to be programmed and $85 for the fob.
