So, I've had my '12 2500 Hemi into the dealer coming up on the fifth time for this issue. The P0740 code is for the torque converter. So far they've rebuilt the tranny, replaced the valve body, and replaced the torque converter.

The light popped back on the other day and my factory power train warranty is a couple months from being over.

Anyone else dealt with this issue? Any chance of them buying the truck back from me?

Absolutely not. While you ARE Within most states lemon law standards, you're way our of the time limit. Most have a 24 month maximum. and a 2 year statue of limitations, texas, ohio, mn, Mi, la, etc, all have these, some states like california might be a little worse than that even.

You're in a 5 year old truck, so you've had five good years out of it. I'm sure you could tell them how pissed off you are, and want to get a new truck, they might be able to work on a good deal to buy it back, but you won't get the formal buy back offers many of us have gotten, you're to far out.

Take it in and press the issue for extended or lifetime power train because of the issues you are having and going unresolved so far

as stated, lemon laws doesn't cover 5 year old trucks. the work you have had done should be warrantied though.

You may need to get Chrysler Customer Service involved, but I agree I would push for this. At this point even if they "fix" it again. with the history, you will have no idea if the root cause is fixed before your warranty is up.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to contact FCA customer service direct. I'm taking the truck in later this week to get looked at, again. I'll update with what happens. I appreciate it.

if they fix/ replace a part, that individual part is warranted for a longer amount of time than the rest of the trucks, if they just replaced everything and this light is an existing problem they cant just say "not my problem anymore since the warranty went out" thats what a Chrysler tech told me
