On my old vehicle, I had an aftermarket remote start. When the car was running, I could hold down the start button and then remove the key from the ignition and keep the truck running. This was useful for when I have the dog in the truck and need to keep the AC/Heat flowing when I'm not in there. Do we have this option, or do I need to shut it down and then hit the start as normal?

what you are referring to is pit stop mode. this only works on aftermarket units that have a separate fob. it will not work using the oem key fob.
