Last weekend I cross rotated my tries in my garage. The garage is on a slight incline because of my driveway being on a incline also. I put my truck in 4X4 low, in park and with emergency brake on. When I had the front end of the ground I was able to spin both wheel by hand. Is this normal on the new auto 4x4 systems

With 4x4 auto this is normal. The system
Uses and electrically engaged clutch to power the front wheels, so when the truck is off the clutch does not have power.

For the "auto" BW-44-44, the Tcase won't lock up unless the rear wheels "slip" at which point the clutches "lock" (and I use that term lightly) and power is then going to the front. Since you were in park, what you experienced would be expected. No worries man!

In that case you have the Borgwarner 44-44 transfer case which doesn't lock until the rear wheels slip. And even then it's through a clutch. Then as soon as you let off the throttle the clutch disengages. Stupid design but all the higher end 1500s come with it.
