Just found out today from the dealership to replace the lower ball joints on my 2011 4wd ram 1500 the whole lower control arm is replaced for just a new ball joint. I don't like that idea seems like a waste so what's my options for a aftermarket lower control arm.
Thanks

I have to replace mine too on days off. I picked up a set of Moog Problem Solver lower ball joints from Rock Auto, so you definitely don't have to replace the whole arm.

It is not always necessary to replace the whole lower control arm but if the bushings on it have worn out then it is a good idea to replace it as well since they normally come with the ball joint preinstalled.

FYI, there are tabs on the factory joints, that will need to be ground off in order to press them out.
