You're going to get more shifting up and down when you have more gears to use. Its supposed to keep the engine in its most efficient RPM for the work your right foot is requesting. Go test drive a 10-speed Ford to see what always shifting is about

Cuz I'll tell ya, i love having those 2 extra shifts. Ram has come a LONG way since the early days of the transmissions failing and u-joints going bad...

for me the jury is still out on this. have to wait till some rams hit the 150000 mile range to see how they are holding up.

I don't mind the up shifts it is the down shifts coming down a hill. I have long lube headers and a full true dual exhaust with super 40's and a pro charger and when it down shifts it revs up at 3000rpm and it gets a little loud with the ex and the air blow off. It didn't seem to do that when I first got the truck. Once it down shifts like that it takes a while on excel to get it to shift back up a gear like it is stuck in the lower gear. Just like to find a way to switch it off so it doesn't do that.
