This should be covered under warranty right?

Well, I visited the dealer and talked to the service department about my headlights, they should replace them with the chrome instead correct? I looked at the new Rams and they don't have black headlights anymore.

They only used the all black housings on the 2015's. Hundreds, if not thousands, of trucks had that same problem, so they went back to the chrome projector shroud.

My dealer denied warranty on mine because I have HID's, even though it was there before installation. Didn't want to listen when I tried to explain that halogens see higher projector bowl temps than HID.

Switch back to the halogens and take truck to another dealer for warranty

My truck is currently at dealership, they're going to check the head lights, hopefully they don't try to stiff me and refuse to switch out the current ones for the chrome clad ones

Update: They're replacing the headlights, in about 1 week due to them being out of stock. They said I can't keep the old ones because they have to send them back to Chrysler to verify they were defective

That's warranty fraud. Beyond that, you have to drill a hole in the rear housing cover to install the HID's, so it's obvious it's been modified.

Not entirely true, hids can be installed with driiling holes if you buy a premium kit. Nor is it warranty fraud, a dealership refusing warranty because of bulbs along should be reported to head office

No.. This would be fraud. The OP has already been given an answer from the warranting dealer. The correct way would be to elevate to the next level of RAM management if unsatisfied with the answer. Changing to HIDs is not the equivalent of switching out the halogen bulbs as far as the warranty is concerned.

Why complain? Sending back warranty parts is SOP. Mopar is buying the new headlights, why should you get the old ones to sell?
Because my truck came with black outs that were discontinued and replaced under warranty with different housings with my permission. I complained to service manager, he called district rep and told them are going to go in the garbage anyways so just give back to him.
