Should I pass on this?

The trouble is that trucks hold their value so well. When i was looking, $15-$20k in my area gets you a 10 yr old, half ton 4x4 with 100k miles. Especially in a crew cab. They hold their value very well.

Most vehicles in today's day and age will go 250k miles with just routine maintenance. So that truck may have 30k life left, give or take.

For a spare and not a dd, it may not be bad. I agree with the others though. I'd not want to give more than $7k for it. Just my .02.

i have a friend who bought his father inlaws 2005 chevrolet quad cab v6 with 200,000 kilometers on it last year it rolled over 500,000 on its original tranny. He is a mechanic and does nothing but regular maintenance drives it daily and hauls his 28ft camper with it. Moral of the story if you maintane properly it will last as long as you want it

My truck is a 2011 with 179,000 miles and I was offered $13,000 for it. Now to be honest I wouldn't sell it because I wouldn't want the feeling if something were to majorly go while with a new owner. I daily this truck and mod often. The main thing is I've had the truck since it had 3 miles on it and am **** about taking care of things before they become " THINGS " lol.

Op in this instance I would say pass, unless this would strictly be a weekend go to Church vehicle.

of course we could start with the basics, is their a complete service record? have you considered have a mechanic you trust go over it? its possible the big things that would be costly to fixed have already been replaced and it is a great deal.
