The trouble is that trucks hold their value so well. When i was looking, $15-$20k in my area gets you a 10 yr old, half ton 4x4 with 100k miles. Especially in a crew cab. They hold their value very well.
Most vehicles in today's day and age will go 250k miles with just routine maintenance. So that truck may have 30k life left, give or take.
For a spare and not a dd, it may not be bad. I agree with the others though. I'd not want to give more than $7k for it. Just my .02.
