Slipping light is on and won't turn off at all, cruise control won't work either. I work all the time so I really don't have a chance to take it to get serviced. Has any had a problem like this, or know a quick solution? I have a long trip ahead and would like my cruise control.887e15ce4f31aa830f199f12107b20cf.jpg

Guessing there is an issue with a rear wheel speed sensor or speed sensor in the transmission.

Would you happen to have a picture of either of them

Wheel speed sensors are usually bolted in to the axle around the wheel bearing. The transmission speed sensor would probably be around the output end, maybe on the transfer case. No pics but you could probably Google for them. I would probably suspect the trans sensor first as the wheel sensors would throw an ABS code and light.

So most likely it'll be loose

It might be loose, the wiring could be damaged, or the sensor could be bad.

Probably a wheel speed sensor. Everything else likely related to that.

I hope you are still here..... I have this exact problem. 2016 2500 Big Horn Ext cab, 8ft w/ 6.7. I was hauling 14klbs and this pretty little slippage light took out my electric trailer breaks as well. Not a fun 1000 mile trip. No cruse either.

Please share your results. What did you end up figuring out? Thank you in advance

Get the codes retrieved then you won’t have to guess at what it could be and you’ll have a direction to go.

I read the codes....nothing. I have a rain sensor code but nothing that pertains to this light. On start up it just says "Service Electronic Breaking system". There is now way to turn this light off even. Cleared codes twice. Same results. I stumbled across a thread that mentioned ABS modules or Speed sensors, but nothing that was 100% conclusive. Very minimal discussion about this problem.

What are you using to get the codes? You’ll need a scan tool that can read communication and ABS codes.

Did you check all the modules for codes?

I don’t believe so. By the way I am interpreting your question, I’ll assume “check fault codes” or “display codes” however the scan device has it, it’s enough. I now hope there are instructions your going to direct me to that will help me check them all??

Ya display codes/check fault codes would be what you need to press.

I haven’t had alpha obd up in quite awhile so I don’t remember if you have to go through each module to check dtcs or if it will check all of them. I believe you have to select each module, connect to it then display codes.
