snow plow prep?

I have a 2014 3500 srw with the 6.4 hemi. Was showing a friend of mine the truck, and I noticed there was only 1 alt.
I thought the snowplow prep package come with dual alternators? :shrug:

I know there is a dual alt option. 220 and a 160 amp for 380 total. My sales guy said the snow plow prep came with dual alt. Mine has the plow prep, but only one alt. I'll call the dealer tomorrow.

The snow plow prep option does NOT include dual alternators it does give you a 220 amp vs the standard 160 amp.

Thanks Olli. Another case of the salesman not knowing or telling the customer what they want to here. Also my fault for not doing my homework.

Hi mowen,

I don't care if the salesman knows or not, if he sold you a truck stating it will be equipped with thus and thus, then that is what the dealership needs to deliver. these people are being paid good money to sell vehicles and to so under false pretenses, either by ignorance or willfully lying, they should be held accountable. If they don't know then they need to find out BEFORE they say it is so. I have heard a lot of this stuff and it annoys me because when you lay down the money that they get for these trucks you should get what you were told you would get!
Sorry for the rant but what you asked for is what you ought to get.

We were discussing the "snow plow prep" option on the 25/3500.

No, your 1500 comes standard with a 180 amp alt. The 25/3500 GAS engines come standard with 160 amp. 25/3500 5.7L trucks with the "snow plow prep" get 180 amp alt. 25/3500 6.4L trucks with the "snow plow prep" get 220 amp. This is according to the '14 15/25/3500 brochure taking from the "buyer's guide".

We have asked the site admin to give the '14-up 25/3500 GAS trucks its' own sub-forum so questions like this would not get confused with the 1500.
