So my truck is at the stealership for warranty work. The passanger side window studder also going up, and the driver side sometimes doesn't go up all the way before it kicks back down.

Well, I took it in, and the tech scratched my window tint all the way through to the window, dealer says they'll replace the tint, but they haven't said anything about the actual window.

Puddle lights under mirror burnt out,
Dealer states they are not covered under warranty, the led bulb, isn't a replacement that I can just ride up to my local auto zone and purchase. I would think this would be covered.

My key , sometimes when I put it in the ignition, it doesn't register, take it out and flip it over and it works fine. Has new batteries, dealer a said if they couldn't reproduce the error they can't diagnose it.

I asked about getting the drls turned on, as I want them on for safety, they quoted me $135 to take a 5 minute process to change the sales code. Seems a little steep to me.

I'm just really disappointed in this dealer. They had to give me a rental until monday, or Tuesday until my truck is ready.

15 ram,cc 21k miles.

Advice on what I should do

find another dealer

my puddle lights have been replaced 2 times each under warranty......

I just has a rim replaced because the tire guy nicked it. I did't ask for the replacement, just that the guy be more careful, but the service manager insisted.

$620 bucks for the rim..........

+4. Time for a new dealer. The lights in the mirrors are not the traditional filament bulbs (filament bulbs aren't covered past 12 months/12k if I remember right). Those LEDs are built in, permanent part of the mirrors. They are covered by the warranty.

Stutter on my passenger front window was an easy fix. Silicone lubricant sprayed all over the rubber/track it slides up and down in. Did it heavily once, about a year ago, haven't had the issue again since. Slides up and down super smooth.

I can understand the $135 for DLRS turn on, they probably charge $100/hour shop rate (or close).
its probably got a flat hourly rate calculated by Chrysler for the procedure that they just multiply by their shop rate and apply their add-ons like environmental recovery and parts and incidentals.
They have to use the PCM update system, meaning someone else can't be using it at the same time, and Wrench-dude will take about 15 mins to pull-up the procedure, print it, get your vehicle in a bay and then start the work--all on the clock.

$135 to flash a sales code is Rediclous! !
I had my dealer flash the XAC code for the backup camera kit that I installed myself , it took 9 minutes total from the time the tech got in my truck , started it drove it to his bay , he then flashed the code , restarted the truck and drove it back over to me waived me over to show me that it worked ....9 minutes ! And it was FREE !

I figured since it was already under the knife it wouldn't be that bad, I even talked to the service manager. And he was like , that's what it calls for, that all he could do. It's very frustrating

I agree with everyone else, you need to find a different dealer. Try to establish a good relationship with the service manager /service writers and chances are they will take care of small things like a simple flash if they can. I was lucky and found a great service dept that had mostly good tech's and I got to know some of them and everytime they work on my truck I tell them how much I appreciate them and the work they do on my truck. I even bring them doughnuts/breakfast taco's about once a month just to say thanks for treating me and my truck so well. People laugh at this but it works for me! I haven't had to take the truck back a second time for the same repair yet, or clean grease off the truck, or re-adjust the seat and mirrors or have any unexplained door dings or scratches.

Why are you paying anything, unless the truck was built in 2014, the factory warranty is still in place, even then you should have a couple months left if it was built in late 2014.

It doesnt matter the build date is the service date (the first time it was sold).

as for the sales codes all dealers are different. most will usually charge 1 hour of labor.

As others have said, just go to a different dealer. Check reviews online, specifically about the service department. People love to hate "stealerships" and plenty of those reasons are justified, but there are many great dealers and service departments out there. Just need to do your research and find one near you.

When buying a vehicle the average person will go with wherever they get the best deal (duh) but after you purchase you have zero requirement to service with that same dealer. Also shop for the best service department independently of shopping prices on a new vehicle.

What you have posted may well be a pretty accurate definition of "stealership" (as opposed to "dealership"). The most important thing is that, if you are reasonably not satisfied with the current dealership for sales or service, it is time to find a better dealer (they are out there).

An example is the dealerships within fifteen miles of where I live in central NY. One of them is where we had bought a few new vehicles in the mid & late-1990's. Their service was OK (sort of), but then they started screwing things up. Their final screw-up was they lied to my wife about something very small and simple; she refused to ever go back there.

The other nearby place has numerous problems (no, I do not diminish problems by referring to them as "issues") with their service department, so we avoid that place like the plague.

We dealt with a great dealership near just south of Rochester, NY until the government "car czar" fiasco and they lost their Jeep franchise despite having the best sales and service numbers in their district. They were assured that, despite carrying only Jeep (and not Dodge or Chrysler), they would remain a Jeep dealership. So much for that.

My wife and I now do business with a dealership in Geneva, NY that is fantastic... both two 2014 Grand Cherokees and have been very happy with them. It is a family owned and operated place that does it right the first time, every time. This afternoon, I traded one of the Jeeps for a fairly well loaded Ram 2500 Laramie w/ 6.7.

Within sixteen years, we have seen the worst and the best - really good ones are out there, and will gain your business the old fashioned way... they earn it.

So, after almost a week in the shop, wrong parts ordered etc, I went to pick up my ram, I was going over their work, and the part that was replaced doesn't even fit correctly. The window trim/seal/pad doesn't make contact to the window. They did how ever replace the actual window. Also they replaced my tint, with a lower quality ,trash filled version. Defects in between the window and tint, my 4 year old could of done a better job, I told them to remove the tint and I would take it back to where I originally had it done, so I'd still have my lifetime fade, crack, peel , warranty on it. They told me that if I did that that it was on me! Said that they cannot pay for third party work. With me it's a piece of mind thing. I paid good money to have them tinted in the first place. Why should I have to have their cheap window tint install?

Where is the Ram cares folks on here, I see them Occasionally, See if they can talk tot he dealer and get you straightened out.. Thats BS.. I wouldnt accept it, Id leave it there until its right.

If thats no remedy then surely post the name of the dealer so everyone else can be sure to stay clear of them. I ahve a warranty issue coming up in July after I return from a camping trip and it scares the bajeebus out of me.
Had my f 150 for almost 4 years with not a single warranty issue, this I have had for 3 months and I am taking it in for 3 different issues, that hopefully get resolved.

Cut your loses with that dealership and run, run, run!!!!!!! If you want to become a pain in their ass you can go to the BBB, post your experiences on their Facebook page, post a negative review on any local business related web site, call the regional office and complain, contact the Ram Cares rep's on this site and tell everyone you know what type of service you received. I bet you are not the first to have problems with this dealership.
