I need to replace the front struts on my 09 4.7 1500. What would you suggest brand-wise? Also, is there a way to tell if the current strut package is factory? I bought the truck from a dealership but I wouldn't think with 130k miles the struts had been replaced before.

If you're looking for an upgrade over stock then I'd recommend the Bilstein 5100's. They'll use your stock springs and hardware but replace the shock portion. Another option would be a Rancho Quicklift if you want a full new assembly or you can simply go with an OEM replacement.

On my old '08 i replaced the OEM with the Rancho Quicklift assembly. It was like stock, but with an added 1.5 inches.

Both Rancho and Bilstein are good shocks. It will just depend on your budget and brand preference.

Bilstein 5100 are nice. Ride is great and they give about an 1.5" lift if desired.
