So I went to the dealer to look at some 2500s. found a Tradesman 2500 4x4 CC with 6.4 liter V8 that I liked. Drive it around, so much better than my 1500 6 speed. So I go to talk about price. My 2014 1500 Express with 14,500 miles is only worth $21000 for trade value....

looks like I'm riding this one out till my trans fails.

A lot of guys love the 6.4 hemi. My cousin just bought one. It's getting 10-11 mpg whereas his dad's 2012 cummins diesel gets 18. With the higher resale value I don't know why more people don't buy the diesel.

I know for sure I never would go gas in a 2500 (I wouldn't have before, but this just confirmed it for me).

I'm surprised by that. I see so many post where a guy trades a 6 month to one year old truck and gets what he paid for it or more. I kinda think that's just a internet thing though. . ROTFLMAO.

Around here there is a lot of 15's left and they have about 10-12K off the sticker. There seems to be a pretty good selection.

Ouch, 21k? Those are fighting words. They are just trying to steal that thing from you. I was looking to trade mine in recently with the same miles and was offered 27k. I think it just depends on the dealer really.

That's BS within a 3 state radius around here u cant buy one for less than 32k with that kind of miles. I would go somewhere else or go back and raise hell with the manager.

Well I bought my 2013 last year with 11k km's for 30k out the door, so really 28k for a truck that sticker'd for 49,000 new and the dealer wasn't loosing money selling it to me so the guy who traded it in got less than that for it. This is why buying new really makes no sense financially, the second it drives off the lot you might as well burn 10-15 grand.

The problem with what you're saying is, nobody pays sticker price. Sticker don't mean squat. I got 10k.off my big horn that stickerd at 44k. So brand new big horn qc Loaded 4wd with 10 miles on it. for 34 and change and 0.% for 72 months. So it in no way Made sense for me to buy a used one.

My fiancees cousin just traded in a 14 2500 with 6.4 Liter, tradesman, not too many bells and whistles, just the back up camera. It had 27,000 miles and a dent in the rear bumper. He just bought it about 6 months ago. They gave him what he owed on it and he got in to a 15 2500 with some more options.

May just have been the black friday deals, but still not bad.

There is not enough info in your story to determine if the cousin got a good deal or not. He could of put good money down . They could of took nothing off the sticker price. The chances of him getting a good deal were slim to none.
