Changing rear brakes. Drivers side tire will not come off. I have pushed, pulled, kicked, smacked and cussed> Anyone have any ideas?

Mine did that. Took an 8lb sledge bouncing off the tire a bit as well and a bit of banging on the rim with a plastic deadblow to get it off. Or perhaps it was my 280lb buddy body slamming the thing. Either way, more force, maybe some PBblaster or other rust disintegrant, WD-40 is simply crap.

Do u mean the lug nuts won't come off ? Have u tried spraying them heavily with W-D 40 and letting it sit for a while ?

If you mean the wheel is stuck on the hubcentric ring in then just takes some persuasion... I have a big rubber head sledge hammer that I use on the big rigs on the farm, does the trick on cars too, if you don't have one just be careful with a regular sledge and hit the tire, if not spray it with penetrating oil and come back to it in a bit and apply force again.

Smack the hell out of it on the back side with a mini sledge.

or so you don't have to worry about hitting the wheel and damaging it, we always use rubber hammers from the back side. if you're not on a lift, lay on your side with one lugnut on and really give her a good hit and it'll come loose but keep the rim&tire still there and not flying lol.

don't worry, about half the customers that come in need hit off. rotate them bad boys more often though!

I use a block of wood and sledge on the inside of the wheel. The wood stops from damaging the rim but gives it a good shock. Hitting the tire rarely gives it the shock it needs to break loose.

what about loosening the lugnuts and doing a short drive around, preferably over a bumpy road at low speed...

I was just going to say brake adjusters if drums or ebrake.

Sound like you should also replace e brake cables while your at it since you live in MO that gets winter weather and that usually means road salt.

Good luck!!
