Seriously though I use tow/haul only when towing or hauling heavy. 4.56 gears make the system work well no tow/haul needed. I have the MDS tuned off.

I tried it again today and it does not go into the Eco Mode but it does show a 5 on the dashboard I do think the shift pattern is slightly different also

I don't think normal driving in this mode will save any fuel but over time it may save your transmission if you do a lot of towing or hauling

my 8sp wont go into 8th gear with tow haul on, so no it wont save you on fuel.

The 5 pops up on my dash when I use it also.

When you go into tow haul it shows the gear you are in just like it would if you manually selected a gear without tow haul. Since you have a 5 speed transmission I am guessing it will say that when in tow haul unless you select a lower gear. The trans will only use gears equal to that number and below when manually selected it is very helpful when defending long steep grades.

With Tow/Haul on mine it will use all 8 gears. Just changes the shift points. Sounds better though. :favorites13:

I do most of the time. I like how it shifts with tow/haul.

I have no clue how it may be affecting MPGs, but I definitely notice the higher shifting points.
