As a lease customer I like getting new trucks every few years I hardly ever stay in the same style/brand but Ive enjoyed my Outdoorsman so much I knew I wanted another Ram. I had 6 months left on my lease and got a flyer in the mail for an additional $2000 off any and all rebates. All said and done I saved nearly 20 grand on this truck. I was thinking of holding off until the 19's but the spy photos confirmed its going to be evolutionary, and playing with the 4th gen uconnect in an 18 im not going to miss anything for the 2 years before this lease is up imo. I basically got what I had but improved it. I got the duals this time, factory NAV, and I don't have to buy slush mats, bedrug, or tonneau cover since it will all swap over.

Ive made my bighorn a laramie. My truck started nice and it was perfect when I bought it. The few things it have over the outdoorsman just makes it a better driver. Good looking rig!

We just picked up a 2017 Big Horn, too. Tow mirrors, brake controller, rear defrost, rubber mats, Alpine, heated seats/wheel. Dealer threw in a bedliner and hood deflector. Dark blue.

Curious, I have a 16’ BigHorn and my XM antenna is on the roof in the front left.
Your 17’ seems to be in the rear still (where my 13’ bighorn was)
Wonder why??

Interesting observation, my 13 was in the rear but my Big Horn 2017 is in the front left. Wonder if it's different by which plant it was built

If your antenna (Sirius/GPS) is up front above the driver's side then your truck is a Saltillo, Mexico build. If you look at your vin it will begin with a 3. Regular cab 1500's and some crew cab 1500's (Tradesman, Big Horn) were/are built at the Saltillo plant along with the Ram 2500, 3500, etc.

Well that's good to know! Guess that explains why I don't have any paint problems. My last one had to be repainted a month into ownership.

It's funny you mention the paint problem because I had a 2015 Express that was a Saltillo build with horrible paint. It was enough so it was bought back by Ram. Not really sure what happened on that 2015 model year out of Saltillo because I noticed a lot of Rams (specifically silver and gray) that had really bad paint mottling.

Dang, that's crappy to hear about. Glad they bought it back tho. Yea I had a 2013 and one month or so after purchase the pint started flaking off on the door sill area, the roof area and a section on the hood started to bubble. Took them about six months but they finally said it looked like someone touched it before paint and they took it and repainted it. They did a great job and could never notice a difference.

I can never understand how something can make it out of quality control with noticeable paint issues like Iv seen in the past.

came in on the dealer trade last night pick it up tomorrow!

Nice trucks and thanks for the comments. I was unaware of the differences between the mexican made trucks and the Warren built ones. I wouldn't have not bought mine had it been from Mexico but it irritates me being a Union worker myself, that the price is the same, workers here get a Living wage and benefits and they get pennies on the dollar down there for the same work, (trucks are as well built) so FCA just makes more.... Different discussion for a different time though!

Sorry to sidetrack the conversation. Congrats on the truck! I just recently got rid of my 16 Ram for a 17 Ram Big Horn and the incentives were to hard to pass up.
