Transmission issues at 24k miles

Got in my truck this morning and went to the store, before I could leave the parking lot. I get a studder, and a message on the evic, kind of worried the dealerships are closed today, truck would not go into park until it was powered off, then it wouldn't go into gear after re starting. Well that just sucks! I looked around the web and that code is assignable by the manufacturer. Hope it is a quick fix, but at least you are under warranty......

hopefully it is something simple. i do know on the cherokee, that code seemed to be a precursor to a new trans.

You guys failed to help me on my last issue, ram, Hendricks dodge, and ram cares pretty much told me to chalk up the loss. So I highly doubt I'll be using either one of your services.

According to a few Dodge forums, where others experienced that same code, it equates to "Powertrain failure." Seems to be unique to 8-speed powered FCA vehicles. Really descriptive isn't it? Gotta love half-ass trouble codes. You get them with computers and software frequently, whether its personal computers or automotive.

Yeah, the Ram Cares thing seems to be kind of hit and miss. They seem to grab onto a small percentage of problems here and act as though any problem will get their top priority until it's 100% solved.

My tranny blew at 38K miles and still doesn't work right. I complained at the dealer and they told me to get lost. I posted all over this board and never heard a word from "Ram Cares". Then, I'll read a post of a guy with a sticky window switch and they are all over it. I guess my number just didn't come up :)

OP, sorry to hear of your troubles. Hopefully, you're covered by a warranty. My best advice is do a thorough test drive before taking your truck back once it's fixed.

Yeah RamCares is a joke as they never helped me on my intermittent start problems that still continue from time to time.
