Hey guys,

I just bought my ram, it's 2011 5.7 hemi...

Car generally is okay, but honking when i lock the truck is so annoying... Especially when i come home at night and my neighbours have to hear locking my "baby" every time...

I found in manual some informations to disable it :
Horn With Remote Lock
When this feature is selected, a short horn sound will
occur when the RKE transmitter LOCK button is pressed.
This feature may be selected with or without the Flash
Lamps with Lock feature. To make your selection, press
and release the SELECT button until a check-mark appears
next to the feature showing the system has been
activated or the check-mark is removed, showing the
system has been deactivated.

But the problem is... I dont have such a function in menu. For example i can disable honking with remote start. So why i cant disable honking when locking ? I hope it is possible to disable this without having to visit the dealer because in my country there is no Dodge dealer

Thnk you for your help in advance and im sorry for my english.. :favorites13:

Yup. It's pretty obnoxious. I had the dealer disable it when I bought my truck.

How I got around it (in the two weeks between when I bought it and when I took it in to have them do it)...just press the lock button on the drivers door, instead of using the key fob. Yeah...not ideal, but until you get it figured out...it beats the $h1t out of listening to the horn.

Edit: Try this.

Here are the steps that the owners manual have to disable the horn.

1. Enter your vehicle and close all doors.
2. Fasten your seat belt (fastening the seat belt will cancel
any chiming that may confuse you during this programming
procedure).
3. Place the key into the ignition.
4. Turn the ignition to the ON position ( Do not start the
engine ).
5. Press and hold the LOCK button on a programmed
(i.e. functional) key fob.
6. Continue to hold the LOCK button, wait at least 4
seconds, but no longer than 10 seconds, then press and
hold the UNLOCK button.
7. When a single chime is heard, release both buttons.
8. Turn the ignition to the OFF position or wait 60
seconds.
9. Test the horn chirp feature by pressing the LOCK
button on the key fob with the ignition in the OFF
position, or the key removed.
10. To reactivate this feature, repeat the above steps.

Hope this helps.

Just FYI you don't have to be in the truck to this, I do it in my living room with my truck 50' away.

Can you not reset it in the uconnect menu? Mine it set to honk after the second press of the fob.

I disabled the horn honk through my dash settings on my 16 express, be warned you lose the ability to find your truck in a parking lot.

When at home, or anywhere I want to lock the truck, I just push the button on the door as I get out...no noise that way, and it locks just as good.

I'd say 98% of the times I've locked it in the almost 5 years I've owned it, it's been locked that way.

Do a Google search on this. I shut it off on my 2014, can't remember how I did it but it's simple once you find the right article explaining how to do it.

Don't know how your truck is equipped? Mine does not have the fancy EVIC and the instructions are as below for turn on or off the horn when locking/unlocking.
• For vehicles not equipped with the EVIC, perform the
following procedure:
1. Press the LOCK button on a programmed RKE transmitter
for at least four seconds, but no longer than ten
seconds. Then, press the PANIC button while still holding
the LOCK button.
2. Release both buttons at the same time.

Thanks for this.. Just went outside and tried it. No more obnoxious honk while licking.. Just a flash of the turn signals and tail lights.

It should still honk if you hit the button twice
