Put the rainx orange washer fluid in my 14 1500 and it always has warning lamp of low washer fluid. Dealer says the rainx ruins the sensor in the tank due to the lack of alcohol in it?? Anyone else had this issue?

How easy is the sensor to get to and replace?

Same thing in my wife's grand Cherokee. I removed sensor and cleaned it, working fine now. It dosnt ruin the sensor. The ph is to low for the sensor to read if it gets grime on it. Use a different fluid and it will be fine. Or remove and clean.

part# 5152029ab $3.00 List. Crawl under your truck, the sensor is at the bottom of the washer tank. carefully pop sensor out with a screwdriver, get ready for a washer fluid bath. :)

I wonder if solering a wire across the 2 tabs on the sensor will allow it to always read full?

I have done this. You dont have to solder though. Taking a small wire and using it to connect the two wires can be done as well to close the circuit.
Essentially strip back the jacket on the two wires off the sensor, take the small short third wire and use that to connect the two off the sensor. It will work but you wont have an indicator telling you washer fluid is low but on the flip side... when no more fluid comes out... that means you are empty :happy107:

It takes time for it to build up a coating where it won't read anymore. Eventually it will probably happen. Didn't happen on my wife's 12 grand Cherokee for 3-4 years

I have been reading so much about it lately, I wonder when or if I will get this issue.

Posted this in the other thread you might not have to replace the sensor.

I use RainX all the time. I did get the fluid is always low once about a year ago. I took the reservoir off and removed the sensor. It had a slimy film on it so I just simply wiped it off put it back together and haven't had an issue since
