It's 1:40 AM. Just drove back to Sacramento from Boise Idaho - Dennis Dillon. Picked up my 2015 Ram 2500 SLT Bighorn 4x4 this afternoon and drove it back. The thing drive very differently than my 1500. Not bad or good, just different. And I love the thing! Billy at Dennis Dillon is a great guy and the whole experience has been not only a huge money saver but super easy. I'll be buying any future dodge/ram products from him. And thanks to those on this forum who recommended I check them out. Incidentally, my in-laws live literally 10 minute from the dealer.....

Luckily I didn't get stuck over Donner Pass. Would have had to look for stranded motorists to eat if I had.

Anyway, just sitting, unwinding with a nice cold Lagunitas Maximus before I go to sleep. Will wake up tomorrow to play with that nifty 4.10 rear end then clean the salt off the poor thing and post some pics hopefully.

thanks everyone. got some Peets in my system. going outside to wash the salt off the 2500 in some sprinkling rain. Neighbors already think I'm strange as it is, here's more fuel for that fire.

Will get some pics up this evening.

sounds like a good road trip....i was contemplating going to boise but they didnt have any sports in stock and the local dealer here in roseville gave me very competitive pricing...after transportation to boise and back and the costs associated i figured i didnt lose too much money by not making the trek.

what are of sac are you in?

finally got the new rig cleaned. There must have been a good 10 lbs of sand on the truck. I had to spray the entire underside and inside the frame rails until the water came out clear. The rain helped keep things moist on the paint as I washed.

heres a before and after.

black forest green pearlcoat. Supposed to look green in some lights, black in others. Seems like most 2500 around here are either white or silver.

Nice!! I also bought my truck in Caldwell at Dennis Dillon, but I only live 20 minutes away. Only downside to them is trade in value. They hit you below the belt and then once more for good measure.

You think that's bad? When I was trying to buy the local dealers were giving the same trade in value as Dennis Smith and wouldn't negotiate past sticker - rebates.

That's terrible. I had a car that trade in booked at 9 and they were right around 6. I owed 10 or so. I ended up selling to a friend. Cost me a thousand on the truck as the rebates changed. Still got a great deal on my truck, but they could have been closer to book trade in value.

Nice truck man, I love the black forrest green. It was a toss up between black forrest and brilliant black and found the truck with all the options I wanted in brilliant black at lashers in Elk Grove so I went with them. I heard a lot of good stuff about Dennis Dillion and was almost ready to pull the trigger on one there. How was your experience with them?

I went with Dennis Dillon since they had a truck with a 4.10 rear end an a whole bunch of other goodies for almost the same price as a base Tradesman around sacramento. It was worth the drive. Plus it seems my 14 Ram 1500 was only worth 21000 for trade in.

Anyway, pessimist in me says that all dealers are smoke and mirrors to take as much as they can from you. If that's true, Dennis Dillon has their game down. They picked me up at the air port, gave me a tour of their ridiculously stocked truck lot and kept me entertained the whole time.

Optimist in me says, they're a good bunch of guys. they had a wall map in their showroom for each customer to pin their home city. They had a board with about 10 names and their respective cities they were flying in from that day. But everyone greeted me by name. again, they have their game down. I even got to drool over a Challenger Hellcat while I was waiting. Plus I got $12000 off sticker and they put in a spray in bed liner and tinted the front windows for me. If I can get a similar deal for my next truck, I'm willing to make the drive again. Overall I'm happy with the whole experience.

Nice, sounds like a great experience up there. I'll definitely keep them in mind in the future. Those hellcats are bad ass aren't they! I tried talking them into letting me drive one when I bought my truck but it wasn't happening lol.

I forget you're (technically?) Bay Area. I'll have to keep an eye out for the Dillon Temp plates while out and about.

No, not considered bay area. Actually about 1-2 hours from there. Not really sure what area we're considered. I just hope the DMV process isn't a pain in the butt. we'll see I guess.
