I HATE the steering column. Everytime I pull in a truck with a lever on the column I think what a *************. If I wanted my truck to feel like it was built in 1994 I would have bought a Ford or Chevy. It gets in the way of crap and looks like ****. The knob and other things like it are the future - get used to it lol.

I put tons of stuff in my freed up space from it not being in the console. It perfectly holds a leftover size container for one.

personally i want my truck to feel like a truck, my 13 feels more like a car, i get some people like that but i dont, i dont get how a shifter on the column makes it a POS though?

OH and here is one i cant stand with the 8spd and dial shifter, i cant put my truck in any gear without the motor running, if i want the truck in neutral i have to open a dash panel and pull an emergency release, or if i want to put the truck in reverse to make sure the reverse light are working or change them to LEDs (which i just did)... the truck has to be running and in gear!

It just feels like an old truck to me. Maybe it's the cars I work on idk. Sitting above everyone else doesn't make it feel like a truck lol?

Me too. I dont get why people sya you are wasting so much space with the center console shifter. What they hell do you plan on putting in there?? Ridiculous statement.

Stuff! Anything besides the damn gear shift. Cell phone, wallet, gum, note book, flash light, pocket knife, drive thru gift cards, skittles, $48 worth of pennies, caltrops, etc....really anything!

i used to have an 89 camaro on 38" swampers lol, it sat above everyone else, just saying haha....

i just like a certain feel/ experience, and personally to me my 3rd gen was the best of both worlds, new enough tech to be a great truck, but old enough to still have that truck feel, being taller makes it feel like a truck but not like its a beast, throw a little bit of a rough ride and the old column shifter and it takes me back to some good ole days of mudding out in the country, not this almost prissy feeling trucks have of moreso putting on a show than being for pure strength, dont get me wrong, i love all my trucks, including my 13, but my two 03 rams and my 08 just feel more tough whereas my 13 reminds me more of driving my camaro

i hear the word clutter lol, cubbies and pockets are useless to me, im OCD and my trucks have to look like they rolled off the dealer floor at all times lol, so nothing sitting out in any cubby, cup holder or anything, i wont even leave something plugged into the cig lighter

I personally would rather have a console with a shifter, but i just like that look .
But when it comes down to it what it has is fine just will take awhile to fully get used to it.

I dont like the shift buttons on the steering wheel because when your turning the wheel its hard to upshift.

The best vehicle I ever had for towing had the center console shifter. Just a bump on the shifter would upshift or downshift while mountain driving. Nothing else even compares. Wish I had it on my 2014.

My best towing vehicle i am fortunate enough to still have, it has a "console" shifter and this very strange pedal left of the brake lol

You mean JUNK! LOL All that stuff would fit in the storage that is there with mine. hell it is like 14"x14" by like 10 deep. More than enough room. But I get the great look of the console shifter and not some cheap looking (imo) dial.

That is the only part of a truck that ive had a girl actually make fun up and ask me "wtf is that"

Then after you explain that its a shift dial, it is usually followed up with "that isnthe least manliest truck thing ive ever seen"

also tell me which part of a story sounds better....

"he jumped in his truck and slammed it into gear and took off to save his girl"

or...

"he jumped in his truck and very swiftly turned the knob to drive and took off to save his girl"

Women are always telling me nice knob

must be city girls, i usually get, "i love your truck but i could do without that"

im not sure why they couldnt keep the lever and it still do the same thing as the knob. i mean "drive" is "drive" right?

Saw this and started laughing:

Slap that baby into ...
no
Drop it into ...
no
Jam it into ...
no

Sigh. Just turn the knob, Steve.
