I saw something yesterday about a "night" model. Atleast I think that's what it was called, just looked like an express with the sport hood and black badges and wheels to me.

Only 38k on my '13... I may be able to hold out until the 5th Gen arrives. Hopefully I'm not disappointed.

I read that the cabin air filter was standard in the 2017's

While i can't speak for the 17s i can say i heard rumor that the 5th gen trucks will have some neat features/options. From the Sport and up will come standard with hid's, lsd both 2wd and 4wd with option of e-lockers front and rear, a 10 spd transmission, and the option of 3.21, 3.73 or 4.10 (Sport and up). The lower end models with hemi will have optional hid's, 8 spd option, no e-locker options but still have lsd option and only the 3.21 and 3.73 to choose from. The hemi will also get a boost to 402hp and 417tq ratings. Also hearing the 6 cyl may be turbocharged. Again, just rumors so take it for what it's worth. I will say that i was considering getting in on the good deals ($17k off laramie at a nearby dealer) but i have decided to wait til the 5th gens come out.

Let's just call my source Ram Cares for now. She also said that all 5th gen trucks will have "ez-lower tailgate dampening systems".

If everything she says is correct would you opt for the 3.21, 3.73, or 4.10s? I would go for the 3.73 due to not towing heavy and I'd never go bigger than a 35" tire.

Would you opt for standard rear limited slip only, e-locker front, rear or both, or lsd rear with locker front? I'd probably opt for standard lsd and maybe front locker for my usage.

The new Rams will not be getting a 10 speed, that is Chevy and Ford. ZF has already said that a 10 speed transmission would cost more to manufacture, and would not be any more efficient than the 8 speed.
