Also, coating the windshield with a sealer like collinite 845 can help. I put it on my entire truck today. Washed, clay bar, wax and sealed. Ready for winter.

In New England where we get a lot of ice, the guys who go thru everything use tire chains. Worked for a gas utility Company. I was a backhoe operator going to a gas leak and could not get up a dead end street even using the hoe to pull myself up this steep hill. An old guy in a 2wd van w/chains drove past me and shut a valve to stop the leak. When all else fails...
