I was hesitant buying my first Ram, but I absolutely love it. At this point, I would definitely buy another.

i like my 2500.don't love it,but it does what i need it to.i have never been brand loyal,i search out the best bang for my buck, but i won't buy an hd with ifs, ever.i figure 1 more truck just before i retire and it will be a heavy duty,so ram or ford.i really hope ram does a redesign before i get around to it.the 4th gen is getting really, really long in the tooth.

I owned a 2009 Ram, traded it for a 2011 Durango, then went 2015 Silverado. The Silverado was trouble free but I missed the comforts of the Ram interior. Just traded the Chevy for a 2017 Limited last week. Very happy to be back in a Ram

Been a Dodge guy all my life. Not changing now. So it's not a matter of if I would buy another one, it's a matter of when I buy another one

I bought a 2014 1500 because it was the least expensive 1/2 that would do what I needed. then bought a 2015 2500 because it was the least expensive 3/4 ton that would do what I needed. So next truck will have to meet the same criteria. Having said that, love my Ram so I'm hoping Ram keeps on keeping their prices down.

Bought my 10' cc hemi 4x4 with 60k miles 10k miles later my passenger side manifold bolt snapped made a loud tick for about 20 min till it warmed up bugged the hell outta me and everyone thought my truck was gonna explode when I started it. Only real issue I've had with the truck other than a cv boot leak as well . But I run the truck pretty hard off-road also . But if I bought a Ram again I'd go diesel.

Got about 11,500 miles on my 2016 RAM Big Horn that I bought new. I absolutely love the truck so far. The only gripe I have with it is that it had some interior rattles but I've seemingly tracked those down and gotten rid of the them. That's a minor annoyance. The rest of the truck has been great. Plenty of power, the transmission is excellent, and I love all the options I got on mine.

Previously I owned a 2015 Charger R/T, a 2013 Charger R/T AWD, and a 2011 RAM. Four years in between RAMs, I missed having my truck, and I'm glad I pulled the trigger and got back into a RAM again.

My Mopar goes way back....

The wifes Caravan was the single best vehicle we've ever owned. 165,000 miles with nothing but oil changes. The plugs were shot, and we traded it right after I changed them.

My '05 Ram was almost trouble free for 125,000.

Her Patriot is over 50K now, zero issues.

My new Bighorn only has 950 miles..........

Yes.

I didn't read all the replies, but after nearly 4 months of ownership, yes absolutely I'd buy it again. I couldn't say that about the 2015 Silverado I traded on this ram! I've traditionally been a Ford man too, but this ram is nice.

Absolutely would buy another Ram (provided the V8 is still an option). My 2017 1500 is my 3rd Ram; 1995 2500 Cummins 5-speed; 2011 3500 Cummins auto; all purchased new. Would still have the 1995 but it was rusting away unfortunately. No longer needed the grunt of a diesel, hence the new 2017 1500. It's a great truck and can't say enough good things about it.
Looked hard at F150's as I really like the aluminum body (even tho I'm not thrilled at the styling that much), but the Ecoboost, as powerful as it is, has a critical design flaw with it's internal water pump; when that pump fails, say goodbye to the motor. The 5.0 does need to be rev'd to make decent power. The 5.0 in my Boss 302 is relatively gutless below 4K rpm (tho it pulls hard past it's 7500 rpm redline). I test drove a 5.0 F150 and though the initial snap provided mostly by the torque converter wasn't bad, it didn't pull that hard once under way. It would do I guess. The 5.7, particularly with 3.92 gears in my Ram is a whole different world.
Didn't even look at GM. Their styling is the worst IMO. That, and I've owned two previous GM vehicles, both Vettes, purchased new. I won't have another GM vehicle.

Does the truck you're looking at have the auto setting on the 4wd buttons? If it does, I would definitely not buy that truck. The BW 44-44 transfer case used in these trucks is an "on demand" awd system. It doesn't actually engage the front axle until the rear tires slip, even in the 4wd Lock and 4wd Low settings. This system relies on the speed sensors at each wheel, to be fully functional, if there are any errors in the system at all, the 4wd wont engage. If you are the type of user that needs your 4wd to work reliably in all conditions, this is not truck for you.

If the truck doesn't have the 4wd auto button, the truck has the BW 44-45 transfer case, which is a traditional t-case, that actually locks up when 4wd is selected.

I ordered my 2014 truck exactly the way I wanted, and at the time I thought it was the best truck for me out of all the other options. Due to the deceptive practice of mislabeling the 4wd buttons, I was unaware I was buying a truck without a real 4wd system. For this single reason (there are other reasons as well ) I would have never had bought my truck, and regret my decision.

interesting. I believe it did have an Auto setting. I will not really need the 4wd often, as I live in FL with 0 chance of snow and only plan to occasionally go off-road (which would be beach sand 90%, maybe in the mud once or twice a year). That would be disappointing to know that 4wd lock would not turn it into full time 4wd.

You have to go down in trim level to get a good transfer case..

I'm not loyal to RAM but I was happy with my 2013, when it came time to buy a tow vehicle, the 2015 RAM ended up the winner. I did look at the GM and Ford solutions and they were not a better solution because neither had the payload I wanted for a SRW one-ton truck.
