Alright guys here's the deal. Just recently bought a 2014 ram quad cab 4x4. I put a 2.5 leveling lot on but I just miss the drop I had on my 12 express. I am refusing to pay almost $900 for the ground force kit. That's just outrageous. Especially when I only paid 300 for a beltech 2\4 . so my question is what 2wd kits will work. I've searched the forum a lot but haven't got a real deffinate answer. I know the spring are diff because 4wd is coilover etc etc. Here's a pic of my old ram and new ram. Loving the new truck with the 8speed and 3:92s. My plan is to lower on the same SRT wheels.

I believe there is an issue with the spring placement on the spindle or something like that. You might have better luck going into the strickly 4x4 lowering thread and ask the last poster what he did.

I agree with you 100% the GF kit is beyond ridiculous in price, but they are the only ones with a kit. With a 2014 sport, given how much $ these trucks are is $900 really that big of a deal to ensure proper ride, axle alignment, etc.

Just my two cents.

^^^ This

Trying to go cheap on suspension parts in a nice new truck like yours, makes no sense at all... Ground Force makes a good product.

Btw, your RC looks great, too!

Your only choice is Ground Force or the McGaughys spindle drop kit which still runs about $650 and does not come with shocks. It also pulls your front wheels out about 1/2". In the end, the Ground Force kit is the way to go.

Ground Force FTW!!! ...mines 4.5 years old, no regrets at all..
Awesome Handling , specially with some BigAss 305/50R20 Rubber on Stock 14' Sport Wheels..

I dont think $900 is unreasonable for progressive rate coils
on all four corners, rear shocks and bump stops.

I've paid 4x more for a Jeep suspension lift kit. ;)

Not long ago Amazon.com had the GF 4x4 Drop Kits on for just over $550
Did a quick google and lookie here: Just $629 delivered!!!

My bud (MGRAM) put the same drop on his supercharged quad cab 4x4 too

I don't think 2WD/4WD springs are different' I have rear springs from a 2WD RSCB on my 4WD CCSB and can't tell the difference in ride.

Different part numbers ;)

and as far as aftermarket drop kits go...
The Rear springs may be similar but the Front springs are totally different from 4WD to 2WD
(for those who think a cheaper 2WD kit would be fine on a 4x4 to save a few bucks)

Ground Force kits for 4x4's re-use stock struts with new progressive rate coils
that need to be swapped over with a Strut Tamer...

The Front on a 2WD is just a non progressive coil with an independently mounted shock within the coil.

Thanks guys. I knew the front springs would be different but I've seen a few threads with guys using the 2/4 drop with front spindle and said it worked fine without cv problems. I'll just get 2/3 and be done. Just sucks. And for my old truck. It was just a 2012 express belltech 2/4 drop on srt wheels. Had a vararam, muffler delete ran 14.2 with those mods and 13.3 with a 75 on stock tune hitting the limiter (This was before tuning was available )
