As most know, I installed a BellTech 964SP 2/4 Lowering Kit on my 2014 Sport R/T. At first I had kept the stock front shocks because I had read some reviews on other forums that talked bad about the BellTech Street Performance front shocks.
Well, curiosity got me and I installed the BellTech Street Performance front shocks. At first I couldn't tell a distinct difference between the stock and BellTech shocks, but the more I drove the more I felt the BellTech's were softer. I had it in my mind I'd swap them back on my next days off.
This past couple of days I was hearing a squeak sound when I hit bumps. I only really came to hear this as I was curious if my lowered suspension was making any noises, so I rode with the radio off and the windows down a couple of times. I could have sworn the sound was coming from the rear of the truck. I crawled around under my truck's rear and couldn't find a thing loose or out of place. I then lifted the front and low and behold, I found what was making my squeaking sound. The lower portion of the BellTech shock had worked it's way off the rubber of the lower shock mount on BOTH front shocks. You'll notice scratches on the lower shock mount, that's from install where I used the cement to compress the shock so I could get it into the A-arm since I didn't have the truck lifted high enough. Here are some pictures of what I found.
