Has anyone cut their coils on a new ram. I've seen it done on other sites and was wondering if anyone had tried it?

I dont know anybody who has done it in a Ram, but know alot of guys who have done it on S10's and it really made their ride go to ****...they would even heat the coils up and compress them...same result.

I cut a coil out of the rears on my drop kit to give me a 5" rear drop. I have drop coils and spindles up front for 4" drop.

I like the look of your drop. I've seen big name customizers cut a coil to get the height right. but then you hear all these horror stories. I may do like you did and just do a rear cut.

For the little bit of money you spend I promise you will be happier with a full drop and lay that truck out over those tires a little better

Im thinking I may do the same drop as CH. I like the stance. Then add some SRT 22's to finish it off.

I cut a coil out of the 4" McG drop coils to give me 5 inches of drop. I have an extra set in case I didn't like it or screwed it up.

As for the SRTs.... like this (when I was only at a 2/4 drop with Nightrunner SRT 22s):

Im thinking I'm going with the Chrome. I like the 2/4 but that little bit makes the look. CH how's the ride with it that low?

Now, or when I did it? When I did it fine. Now that I need new shocks.... not so good. LOL

I am still running factory shocks with this drop 2 years later and I really need to find a lowered set.

I've cut springs on several trucks and have never had any issues. I just bought a 2012 Express and cut 2.5 coils in the rear and got about 4.5" of drop. It rides almost as good as stock. The only issue I have noticed is when using stock rear shocks, at full extension your cut springs can just fall out. I replaced mine with belltech drop shocks and problem solved.
