Like the title says, has anyone with the 2" lowering springs (McGaughy or other) tow a reasonable load? Have you considered shortening your bump stops?

We just towed our 7K trailee through the Rockies after lowering the rear 3" and sat in the bump stops the whole way. Not comfortable.
I'm looking to raise it up 1- 1.5" and wonder if that's enough to keep it comfy while accommodating a 700lb tongue load?

30lbs. Rear sits 3/4" higher than front when empty by sagged when towing.

they say the max is 100 psi- as I recall- that said, I think if you upped the psi to about 70- 80 psi, you wouldn't have any problems.

with a tongue load of 700 lbs, that's 70% of the 1000lb. rating on the bags- I am sure they have a safety factor built in- somewhere from 10-20%.
That said, I would definitely use about 70 psi.

I had my (shorter) airbags inflated to 30psi (the recommended max).
This is how we sat on the bumpstops for 12+ hours of driving through the Rockies, and how she sat unloaded when we got home and got her cleaned up.
She now sits an inch and a bit higher and uses the longer RAM airbags, and I may trim the bumpstops to gain a touch more travel.
The bumpstop shot is with our trailer loaded, using our 1,200Lb Reese trunion bar/dual cam sway control setup correctly- I can't do any more to transfer weight forward. It's a 700lb (exactly 10%) tongue weight.

Thank you very much for that. Knowing how we went overboard with the drop, I'll heed your advice before needing to replace parts :winner_second_h4h:
