I just installed the Ground Force 2" rear today and highly impressed. It took longer to get the wheel well liners out than completing the install. The ride seems slightly stiffer and I am really nit picking. I love the look!

I'm interested in pictures as well, really from anyone that's lowered just the rear end.

Is cutting the spring safe? Any chances of issues afterwards?

Take it for what you want on cutting it. Don't see where there can be any issues. I've been driving my truck for about 2 weeks now after I installed the mcgaughys springs then had to cut them to even make my truck level and it can't tell a difference in ride or anything. Seems just completely like it was stock other than it sits level and looks a lot better. You can buy 2" lowering springs for the rear if you ever wish to go back to stock in the future or just save yourself a couple hundred bucks and cut the stock springs. I can tell you had I known the mcgaughys springs weren't going to do anything at all for my truck I'd saved the money and spent it elsewhere and cut my stock springs .

I originally wanted nothing to do with more than a 2" rear drop simply cause its a crew cab 4x4. But now im wondering what I was thinking - im gonna be dropping it to 2/4 in the summer if I can save up for both tires and a drop kit, im currently running 305/55R20s and I dont think ill be able to get away with no rub.

Take a look at some of the lowering threads with pics and youll see how good the RCSB looks with a 2/4 drop. To me, I think its perfect.

That is correct GHOSTDODGE. My 2012 ram sc did not come with it either. Also if you need springs I have the McGaughy's 2 inch drop coils off of my truck since I decided to lower it more. I put less than 10k miles on them and never carried more than a few hundred pounds. They are still in brand new condition and you can have for $120 if you don't want to cut your stockers. Just message me and I'll give you my phone #.

To answer the question a little more directly, if you use a thin cutting wheel on a grinder to cut your springs, you shouldn't have any problems. Even a reciprocating saw (sawzall) will work, but you might go through a couple of blades. :)
Just don't go full retard and use a cutting torch. I've seen people heat springs to lower vehicles or to cut them and they never turn out right.
The last time I saw a guy heat springs to lower his Chevy, one of the springs fell out of the truck the next time he put it on a jack.

I did the McGaughy 2" rear springs and the drop was about 1 1/2". After I dropped it I felt a twitch in the rear when I lightly touched the gas. What I found out was that with the drop the panhard bar was lower on the right than the left. With the torque on the rear axle the right should be slightly higher than the left, so I drilled new holes in the right side and raised it about 1 1/2" and the twitch went away. I also used a Spohn adjustable panhard bar to center the rear axle. When you drop the back it will move the rear axle off center about 3/8'.

How did you center your axle?

So to just do a 1.5-2" drop on the rear, it involves drilling holes in a new truck... no thanks, I guess I'm gonna keep mine stock then. It's too bad nobody makes a good 1-2" rear drop kit.
