Hello Ram World......

I just got my 2012 Ram Express RC and I want to lower it immediately. I would like to ask the Ram community for some suggestions and advice before I do.

Id like to know:
1. Is Beltec the best kit manufacturer or Groundforce, etc?
2. I want a 4" front 6" rear drop (anything special I need to know here)?
3. Any problems or side effects I need to be made aware of?
4. Anyone have suggestions on who has the best deal on a kit?

I want to thank you all for any help you can lend here.

mcgaughy's makes a good kit (and made in the USA too).
they have 2 kits. 1 is a 2/4 drop using springs in front/back.
other is 2/4 using spindles in front, springs in back.

ground force kit is only a 2/3 drop.
to achieve a 4/6 drop, you would eventually have to cut some coils somewhere. you can get the 4" drop in front if you buy the drop spindles and drop springs. rear would definitely have to cut the coils.

do a search in the 4th gen section. there are a couple of guys that are at that drop level. (big boi is one, cant remember the other's name but think he is at 3/5).

as far as best deal, 3rd strike performance gives us a discount thru the ram forum. but overall, all prices will be close to the same. expect to pay a little more for the deluxce mcg kit because of the spindles. also, you would want to replace the stock shocks if you do achieve the 4/6 drop. belltech street performance shocks are nice.

good luck. and post up pics after you finish lowering your truck.

careful with 4/6, make sure get the wheels and tires you want first, then lower accordingly.

I think the McGaughys really is the best. I used the springs only kit and also cut 1 full coil out of the rears.

If your gonna do a drop make sure if you get rims and tires later down the road that they fit, also if ya express if a 4x4 like mine than go with ground force there one of the only ones that make a 4x4 lowering kit, but if not the McGraughys is the way to go cant wait to see pics

I went with Groundforce and the truck drives great. I also like the stance and did not give up any ride quality. Rides better then stock

I like my ground force as well, but to me the ride is a little worse than it was stock, but not much. But then again, I have a 4wd. Looking into air ride technologies air bag kit in the future. Looks great though!
