So who's running the McGaughy's 2/4 Economy drop? I've got one on the way and I'm curious to see the results on other trucks.

Copperhead,
Since you installed the McG 2/4 drop yourself, do you think it will work with a 4x4?

When I did the 2/4 drop on my 05 4x4, the only thing I had to alter, was to notch the spindle to fit the lower control arm. Lemme know what you think! I'd rather go with the McG spindle kit, then beltech's coil only drop.

I think there's quite a bit of difference on how the 4wd and 2wd trucks are setup on the 4th gens. BTW, for anyone who cares, I did end up dropping the truck with the cheap McGaughy's 2/4 drop:

Depends on what you consider better. While I liked how it rode stock like a luxury car, I like more of a "sport" feel. It definitely stiffened it up a bit, but it's nothing near how bad my 2004 rode when it was dropped.

Hey David, I was looking at the same drop kit, but they only currently have one for 2009. It worked for your 2010, do you think anything changed from 2009 to 2011? Wanna make sure it will work for mine.

David, on a scale of 1-10, can you rate the original ride and the current ride? I love the smooth ride, and I don't want to (for lack of better term) **** it up.
A little stiff is ok, but if it rides like a 3500 then I don't like it.

Original ride (considering it's a truck) was a 10 for me...now...7 on a bad day (or Oklahoma road.) Really, it's not that bad at all and I'm still on stock shocks and tires. I think a drop and then some aftermarket, and much better (which by comparison isn't hard with the GYs) tires will easily bring it back up to an 8-8.5.
