Time has come to replace the tires of the Factory 22's i want to run a wider tire but I am not sure if i will run into issues with the stock R/T " rims. I currently am running the belltech 2/4 drop and don't plan on going lower. Anybody running 305/45 or 305/40 with the R/T wheels?

I prefer 285 45 22. My 305s steer me into every rut or imperfection in the road.

This is one reason why I plan to run the stock 285 up front with a 305 or bigger in the rear.

That's not a bad idea, but with offset tires sidewall height will be different wont they?

I believe a 305/40 is the same "height" as a 285/45/ I forget exactly and give me a bit to dig up my notes but I think the Kumho tire, model I cant remember is within 1/8 of a in overall height of each other. Its so small you'll never notice.

It will vary slightly with every tire manufacturer but just look up their over tire height with a tire that is produced in both 285 and 305... I think they are just under 32" in overall height.

Edit: Ok it was more like 1/2"

Yeah I just looked up the Nitto overall height and they are 1/2" apart I feel that would be to noticeable.

Yeah, Might be, its hard to say, It's really only 1/4" larger diameter. Maybe more the 305/45 and have it purposely larger, might not look bad, but depends on wheels and personal taste.

I'm going to give it a shot and hopefully its not too noticeable...
If I'm likey I'll get the set up and stuff a 315-345 back there and open a whole other can of worms

I have 305/45 nitto 420s on mine and they were great when new. But now after about 10,000 mile they ride rough and track all over bad roads.

Still like them though. But want to try something else next time.

I will say there a ****** BEAST in the rain.. Just cut right through water.

I putting 305/45/22's on my R/T with the stock wheels. The truck is stock height so we shall see. Did a lot of research and went back to the Goodyears. I know they are not the best but I wanted an all season tire that was quiet. Plus, the stock tires have been quiet all the way down and handled fine in the rain still. They are worn out as they are slightly past the wear indicators so I have no complaints. My new job has me working remotely from home so I am not going to be driving near as much as I used to either.

I got the tires installed a couple of weeks ago. I only have a tiny bit of rubbing at full lock when turned to the left. Other than that not a problem at all. Looks good with the tires on it. I work on getting a picture or two posted up.

Question about going with a 305/45/22, with this size of tire what would the load rating be on a tire this size?? Reason I ask is 4 to 5 times a year I tow a trailer with a truck that weights 6400 lbs so lets say 8000lbs or so is what I would be pulling.. Will the nitto 420s or the toyo proxes st 2 be ok for this I want to make sure be for I buy rims and tires I want to be safe.

Load rating on the NT420S at that size is 2910lb per tire, so a rear tire capacity of 5820lb so you have to factor in the rear weight of the truck and add the tongue weight of the trailer and that will tell you if the tires can handle the weight but that size will easily handle the full towing capacity of the truck.

That's not a bad idea, but with offset tires sidewall height will be different wont they?

Sidewall height can be different on a 2wd front to rear with no issues; an offset as small as 1/2" will barely be noticeable visibly but can make a difference when it comes to traction and rear handling. A 285/305 front/rear combo works quite well and also removes any potential front rubbing issues.
