Hello from Colorado Springs!

Howdy forum folks!

Just bought my first RAM, a 2013 1500 5.7L Express Quad Cab in copperhead orange. It's got the lower gearing and LSD in the rear, which I'm thrilled about as I like to get out into the wilderness regularly and will also occasionally haul or tow. I'm having lots of fun with this truck already! I have the following changes in mind for it:

suspension lift
big tires and new wheels
front bumper with better clearance and winch
tow hitch (for some reason the original owner deleted the hitch from the package)
intake/exhaust
bed liner of some sort
new A/V system
sunroof and power rear window, maybe?

I'm sure I'll be spending plenty of time here in the near future researching the details of my mods and checking out what others are doing with their trucks.









A little about me - My name is James. I'm self employed running a modest guitar shop. I love the outdoors, dogs, music, camping, great food and drink, easy going people, art and guitars. My wife and I recently decided to follow our dreams and sold most of our stuff and moved out to the Colorado after living on the East Coast our whole lives. The Mrs., our dog, and I going to take a serious road trip all around the Southwestern US covering 7 states soon so I'll be getting real familiar with this new truck!

I'm looking forward to diving into the forum here and talking with you folks.

Oh, definitely some mods in the near future. The most pressing is to get it lifted and put some bigger tires and new wheels on it. The factory wheels will become my "highway trip" set. I want to go to 37" tires, probably on 17" or 18" rims. I'm thinking Trail Grapplers or Mickey Thompsons. I just need to figure out which lift kit I want and the best place to install it.

I also need a towing hitch. I will likely replace the front bumper with something that has better clearance and a winch mount. Intake and exhaust are something I'll look into after those.

Got a zone 6" lift kit and some 37" trail grapplers on 17" Fuel Boosts on the way, as well as some audio gear. Bedliner gets sprayed this week. A front bumper with better clearance will be next on the list!

Any of you locals know of any pickup-friendly 4X4 clubs around? So many Jeep clubs out here! Jeeps are awesome, but they can get into and through places I won't fit. I want to play in the rocks and dirt, too!
